CEBU Football Association (CFA) took the vacant seat in the Philippine Football Federation Board of Governors after last Saturday’s PFF Board of Governors meeting.
In a closed-door election, CFA, through its president Ricky Dakay, won the seat over Iloilo Football president Joseph Gensaya.

Among those who voted for CFA were Dan Palami of the Leyte Football Association, Dick Emperado of the Negros Oriental Football Association and Charlie Cojuangco of the Negros Occidental Football Association.
“Daghan gyud ning matabang nato especially since maapil gyud ta sa discussion concerning the development of football in the country,” said CFA General-Secretary Joey Herrera.
Herrera said he hopes this will not only help the CFA easily raise its concerns to the PFF, which is the national football body, but also help get immediate action from them.
Aside from this, the position will also be important especially in getting support for its proposed programs.
Projects
CFA is set to oversee the PFF Kasibulan Project. This project, which is held in partnership with Pagcor, and which will be facilitated by former CFA board member Eleazar Toledo, is a grassroots program for kids aged 6 to 12.
The schedule for the project will be on July 20; July 27 in Talisay; Aug. 10 in Toledo; Aug. 24 in Balamban; Sept. 14 in Lapu-Lapu; and Sept. 28 in Cebu City.
PFF will be sending equipment and shirts for the participants.
The next step for the CFA will be formal induction of officers for which they invited PFF President Nonong Araneta.

  1. I think that it is great that they are getting a sit in the PFF board and I hope that they can make it meaningful.
