MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Azkals will be visiting Chicago and Indianapolis for a couple of exhibition games in the US this August.
The Azkals, who will compete in the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup late this year, will participate in the P/E Capital Investments Invitational Cup, competing against the Chicago Inferno of the United Soccer Leagues and the US Virgin Islands National Team.
According to Examiner, the Philippine squad will play against the Chicago Inferno at the Wheaton’s Joe Bean stadium on August 11.
The Inferno will then battle the US Virgin Islands’ Dashing Eagle on August 14.
The Azkals and the Dashing Eagle will then go to the Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis to close out the three-team round-robin.
Among those competing is 19-year-old Filipino-American Josh Bone, who plays for the Chicago Inferno. Bone hopes he will be included in the Azkals roster for the Suzuki Cup.
“It’s such an honor for our first-year club to host these friendlies against two up-and-coming soccer nations,” said Chicago Inferno president Todd Short.

Did not find that Fil-am Josh Bone in Chicago Inferno roster for 2012...
ReplyDeleteCan't find him anywhere. Only Josh Bone that can be found is a basketball player.
DeleteI think that it is great that they are going to play in USA. USA has been growing a lot in the football side of things and they have a variety of player playing there.
