Queen City B tries to keep clean record

The Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) B hopes to remain scratch free as it faces Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) A in this Sunday’s resumption of the Men’s Open category of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City .

CQCU B has three points to its name after having won its lone match last year against Uptown United, 6-0.

Its sister team CQCU A is lording it over in its own bracket with 12 points equivalent to four wins in as many games.

DBUFC A, on the other hand, is currently sitting at the second place in bracket B with seven points after winning two of its matches and drawing one. It holds the same number of points as current leader University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) Alumni but DBUFC A holds an advantage for having a goal difference of 18 points.

DBUFC A will have to score more than 11 points and not concede any goal to CQCU B to take over the top spot.

Other matches in the Men’s Open will pit CrazyHorse against Don Bosco (DB) Magone; San Roque Football Club (SRFC) Arsenal versus Southwestern University (SWU) and DBUFC B hoping to post its first win in the tournament at the expense of Subangdaku Football Club (SFC). /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
