Three GK's in a 20-man squad?! There's also a lack of proper central midfielders, only Moy is a proper center mid in there. And it's a new year and Gener still gets selected?! ffs. lol.
ReplyDeletePffft. Africans dropped so Gener can stay? Lolzypop!
ReplyDeleteso they can justify calling it AZKALS Alyansa?
ReplyDeleteLeonora is ,much better than Bermejo. A young defender like Leonora would learn and gain more experience if he was also selected in the squad.
ReplyDelete^^Hah! Bermejo is a right back while Leonora is a left back that can play as a central defender.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Camcam? LOL
ReplyDeleteBermejo isnt that bad. I like his style.
Camcam sucks!
ReplyDeleteThere's also so many old timers in this squad.
Mercado - 37
Sacapano - turns 32 next month
Bermejo - turns 31 next month
Doctora - 35
Gener - 37
Del Rosario - 30
Araneta - turns 30 in early March
Caligdong - turns 30 later this year
Mercado us a decent GK. He aint young anymore, buy he makes it up with his positioning, timing, decision making and his heart. Araneta sucks, Yanti Barsales plays much better. If he doesn't compose himself and get rid of that "gikil" thing, then he doesn't belong there. Better start training Beloya as the next supporting striker.
ReplyDelete30 isnt old. 32 and 37 is ok for a keeper like Sacapano and Mercado.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Araneta doesnt compliment his teammates well. Lots of wasted chances and too slow for a striker. I really think he should be dropped in place of a quicker, more composed striker. Someone younger too and smarter.
ReplyDeletefor me, araneta lacks some basic skills and doesnt know how to feint and usually forces the ball and, thus, he is so predictable. at least from what i saw so far. but he is not that bad and in fact excels in local competitions like the ufl. we just need a young, faster, stronger more skilled back-up for phil
ReplyDelete30 may not be old in general, but with regards to our players who aren't that quick and aren't as technically sound to begin, then 30 years of age is already old!
ReplyDeleteAs for the GK's, again, they may not be that old for a GK but they lack height and aren't that great to begin with so their age is considerably old.
The problem with Araneta is that masyadong siyang atat (sobra talaga) to get on the score sheet and it affects his all around game especially his composure and he just becomes extremely irritating to watch.
ReplyDeleteI have played with Araneta during his UST days. There is nothing special in him mates. The reason why he is still in the national team is because the PFF president is his uncle.
