A record 215 teams will be seeing action in various categories today as the
2nd Sinulog Football Cup kicks off in two different venues.
Seeing action at the pitch in the University of San Carlos Technological
Center (USC-TC) in Talamban, Cebu City today are teams competing in categories
Boys 14 and 17 and Girls 14 and 17.
To be held at the San Roque football field in Mandaue City are Players 6, 8,
10 and Boys 12 categories.
All matches of the Men’s Open will be held the whole day tomorrow at the
USC-TC pitch while all Ladies Open matches will be held at the pitch in San
Roque on the same day.
This 7-a-side festival type tournament will be the first local tournament to
be covered by a national television in the AKTV.
This tournament will also have special guests tomorrow in five members of the
Philippine Azkals.
Azkals Darren Hartmann, Lexton Moy, Cebuano Paolo Pascual, Bisagh Bajadoran
and Nestorio Margarse will be arriving after lunch tomorrow to grace the
tournament and award the winners in the age group categories.
Aside from local teams, out-of-town teams will also be coming from the
Masbate Football Club, Zamboanga and Ormoc.
This tournament is being held in cooperation with the Sinulog Foundation and
the Cebu City Government in cooperation with the Cebu Amateur Football Club.
