AND so it hit them once again.
Queen City United Football Club (QCUFC) may face problens in its debut in the United Football League Second Division after the UFL turned down its request for a postponement.

QCUFC requested to have its first game this Saturday against Lion’s Meltique Beef FC in Manila postponed.
Cebu Amateur Football Club (CAFC)officer Raffy Musni requested UFL technical director Richie Gannaban a week before the release of schedule of UFL matches to give the club a weekend off to give way for the Sinulog festivities.
According to CAFC president Glen Quisido, in their conversation, Gannaban promised to review the schedules and work on it since the schedule was not yet finalized.
Just when they thought that they were in agreement, the club was surprised when they learned they have a scheduled game this Saturday in Manila at 2 p.m.
“Nahibong bitaw mi. Nagtuo sila naa ra mi sa eskina. Ayaw kalit-kaliti. Give us at least give one week because we’re after the airfare discount,” said Quisido.
The club usually spends P81,000 for its roundtrip airfare and needs a one-week allowance to book the tickets. They spend a total of P200,000 for every trip to Manila.
Quisido added that they already sent a request letter to the organizers so that their game will be rescheduled.
If the UFL organizers decline the request, QCUFC will be forced to forfeit its match since they have not purchased tickets for this week.
The club will then call for a meeting with the board members to discuss the situation.
If this happens, it would be the second time Queen City hits a snag in the UFL. The first was the postponement of its first game against Pachanga last season when they first joined.
Quisido said UFL officials wanted the club to explain their excuse as other teams might use the same reason to request a match reschedule.
“But we notified them a week before, that’s the difference,” said Quisido.
Two UFL officials and some players just visited Cebu last weekend for the Sinulog Football Festival.
