PREPARATIONS shift to high gear for the 1st Al Munawwara Invitational Sports (Amis) "Soccer for Peace" that kicks off on September 26 at the Tionko football grounds.
Davao Football Association (DFA) secretary Erwin Protacio, in an e-mail Tuesday, said the bootfest will carry the theme "One community, one city, one country -- Pagkakaisa Isang Serbisyo Oportunidad."
"It will have the six-under 5-A-Side, eight-under, 10-under, 12-under and elementary girls events," Protacio said.
He, however, said they will limit participants to 12 teams per category in the meet organized through the initiative of Engr. Cabel Nurhasan, in cooperation with Amis, Office of the Presidential Affairs on the Peace Process, Department of Education, and University of the Philippines (UP) in Mindanao.
Protacio added that an art and literary competition will be among the side events, as well as a Peace Education Livelihood Training seminar, and forum on "Pagkakaisa Isang Serbisyo Oportunidad." (MLSA)
