SOME 50 teams are seeing action in the 1st Al Munawwara Invitational Sports (Amis) Soccer for Peace Tournament at the Tionko football grounds Saturday.
Davao Football Association (DFA) secretary Erwin Protacio said the event features the six-under five-A-side, eight-under, 10-under, 12-under and elementary girls categories.
It carries the theme "One community, one city, one country – Pagkakaisa Isang Serbisyo Oportunidad."
Teams will come from the Ateneo de Davao University, Sakya FC, Southpoint School, Abba's Orchard, Amis, Catalunan Grande, Brain Works, Montserrat Camp School, Davao Football Academy, Dona Pilar Learning Center, Catalunan Grande, SOS Children's Village, Mintal Elementary School, Holy Child School of Davao, Philippine Women's College, Zonta Elementary School, St. Paul's Pasig-Davao and Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Elementary School.
Protacio said the bootfest is an initiative of Engr. Cabel Nurhasan and is in cooperation with Amis, Office of the Presidential Affairs on the Peace Process, Department of Education and University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao. (MLSA)
