WEST Negros University B topped the men’s open division of last weekend’s 1st Doc Eric 7-aside Football Festival held last September 12-13 at Carlos Hilado Memorial State College pitch in Talisay City.
The Wesnecans, using the event as tune-up as part of their preparations for incoming NOPSSCEA season which is slated to kick off on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Paglaum Sports Complex pitch, missed the services of former RP team campaigner Robert Cañedo but took the title just the same, affirming their top billing as pre-tournament picks in the event organized by the City Government of Talisay under Mayor Eric Saratan in cooperation with the Executive Village Football Club headed by businessman Rafael Lizares.
The WNU B team was composed of keeper Irl Tomodos, former national pool member Joel Ballo-allo, Carlo Tacusalme, Camelo Tacusalme, Femar Suganob, Rudolf Bebanco, Roeney Cornel, Ruffy Llorente, Gino Palomo, Jokko Centino, and Ian Combate.
