THE Lady Knights Football Club (FC) edged Medvil FC, 3-2, to keep its unbeaten record in the DFA Women's Open Tournament 2009 at the Tionko grounds over the weekend.
RP player Merlo Albano, Lomalyn Fama and Betina Adolin knocked in one goal each for the Lady Knights, while Medvil scored on the goals of Kharla Sol Cruz and Nina Arrieta.
In an earlier game, the Philippine Women's College (PWC) also won on the same note over University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao, 3-2, with Joly Bunac hitting goals in the seventh and 63rd minutes, while teammate Valerie Vichez added a goal in the 30th.
Ellen Cuizon blasted in the 53rd and 80th for UP Min in the football tournament organized by the Davao Football Association (DFA) with Noel Presto as tournament director.
Lady Knights FC earned nine points with three wins, no draw and no loss to grab the top spot of the team standings. Medvil (2-0-2) and PWC (2-0-2) placed second and third, respectively, with six points apiece.
UP Min (1-0-2) is occupying fourth spot while Seagull (1-0-3) is at fifth place.
