  1. Ceres-Negros FC is a good indicator on how the PMNT will do at upcoming Suzuki Cup and Asian Cup Qualifier. The water glass is looking half empty to me.

  2. Lets tink logically..
Will fil-foreign play for azkals if they are good enuff to play for the their real country?

All this talk about them having pinoy pride is rubbish..

  3. It is obvious that our Filipino-Foreign players are not good enough to play for their real country. Exception is Alfonse Areola, good enough to play for the French National Team. He's a sub and never played a single game in the World Cup, but now he could brag about his World Cup Gold Medal.

  4. but good enough for SEA level football & still better than our local/homegrown players.sad but true. this is the only reason we're not suffering the humiliation our U-age group counterpart.

    1. But this problem in the U-age group was created by the PFF. Looking back at 2010, the Renaissance of Philippine Football, there was large enthusiasm and support from the public, so that the PFF could have started a solid youth soccer program to really train our locals. Those 7 yr-old kids will be playing U16 today. They were ignored, and PFF fully concentrated and invested efforts to recruit more Foreign-Filipinos with scouts in UK, Japan and mainland Europe. Palami became a national hero. His motto for the Foreign plays "If you have or could get a Philippine passport, fly to the Philippines and we will check you out."

    3. Sa logic na sinasabi mo, edi sana ang team ng davao tinatambakan ang team na puro homegrown like stallion and kaya? dahil puro fil foreign sila dun at nandun pa yung magkapatid. mashado mo naman minamaliit ang homegrown.

    4. Anonymous 10 August 2018 at 02:04 your comment is bullseye. I thought the miracle in Hanoi will be the beginning of new Philippine Football but i was wrong. Palami and PFF recruited more foreign born and trained filipino players outside our country ad they were hungry to improve their standings ans performances instead of devwloping firsf our own home growns in the backyard because the people are now embracing football as a likeable sport that could rival basketball in popularity. Palami and PFF were wrong on using the band aid solution as 8 years had passed and our Youth teams are still the worst performing teams in Southeast Asia because they snubbed the importance of our homegrowns and they even quick to grab credits as 'filipino' to areola and etheridge who are born and trained in Europe . They brainwashed the minds of many bandwagon fans that being foreign born is a hero and much more important than developing our local born players. Football is about having your own product trained and developed then when the time comes they are ripe ans comes of age they will bring the nation to greatness. Success needs no shortcut if we want to becone one of the prominent powerhouse in the region. PFF and Palami had no vision and is all about showboating. They have 6 years of FIFA grassroots course in visayas and mindanao but until now we cant produce quality players and quality coaches not to mention many appointed grassroots coach are Dep Ed teachers who dont have tine to teach football after the course. It is reallh frustrating for the football fans and aspiring footballers to witness this kind of fiasco.

    5. the current situation in football was created by Palami and his ego to be call the father of football in the country.
what happening to global now is partly his doing also

    6. The argument here is between those with a focused approach to a problem and those whose solution is to "boil the ocean". i.e. we need lots of facilities & training centers, lots of licensed coaches, about 15 yrs. of progress, etc.

Come on man, we are talking about 4 age groups (U16, U17, U19, U22) composed of about 26 players each divided into teamA and teamB, coming from a city whose population is 12.88M NCR 2015 (Iceland 331K 2015). The U16s were 7 yrs old, 8 years ago, and could be trained by a Japanese coach on a 4 year contract, so after 4 years he had completely trained all players until U22. The players all know each other for 5 years and will be playing like brothers and the coach knows exactly what each player can do. Chemistry is very important in soccer. Their mind should be in total synchronization, even subconsciously,

So we hire 4 foreign coaches, rather than wait for hundreds of Filipino coaches to be available. We use Rizal Memorial Stadium, schedule: 7A-10A U16s, 11AM-2PM, U17s, 3PM-5PM, U19s and 6PM-9PM U22s, three times a week. OK, this is an exaggerated simplification, but it is a direct to the point, focused solution to a problem. Of course, we select the best athletic youngster available, no politics, no "lagay man". The players in teamB is encouraged to play harder and better to move to teamA, not so good players in teamA is demoted and moved to teamB. New recruits goes to teamB, replacing the worst players.

House them in a dormitory, so kids from the Visayas and Mindanao gets training and education to improve their lives.

  5. Maro and Caalib presently conducting FIFA MA grassroots in Negros presently. This is the 6th time rhey've been doing this for 6 years but they dont priduce quality players now because most of the FA appointees to attend the course are mostly Dep Ed teachers who doesn''t have the time to teach football in a quality time after each course. The PFF have brainless technical directors and stupid decisions at all.
