Mabuti pa itong Global maraming homegrowns at pinapalaro pa sa starting line up yung iba. Pero I think Mathay and Sandejas are born 2000 players na naglaro sa Global U17 last Summer sa UFL Youth League.
ReplyDeleteI guess the foreign players in this squad are Kaole, Sasaki and Azzawi? Hmm. Kinda interesting to see Global FC squad made up of local homegrown players.
ReplyDelete5 players came from the Pilipinas Dragons that played in Barcelona early part of last year. Mathay,Roleda,Paurom,Sandejas and Vinculado. Casambre is still a teen also. Shu Sasaki played in NPL Australia for Blacktown Spartans,A div.2 team.
ReplyDeleteHmmm that looks interesting. How would these 5 players from Philippine Dragons cope up with their studies when in fact Global is Cebu based? Are they relocating also? And so is Marco Casambre? What a shame for Ceres if they don't have young homegrowns like what Global is doing? Maybe it truly shows what Ceres is not capable of doing and it shows their Youth is non existent or only good for showing in the Festivals and not built for a pro league. NOFA is useless if this goes on.
ReplyDeleteJohn Kanayama is not on the list amd can Rafael Dumas make it in time against Tampines Rovers?
ReplyDeleteSorry dont know , maybe Kanayama was only on trial and did not get a contract ?
DeleteCould be that both did not get the paperwork done before AFC deadline and that they only be ready for PFL ?
Hi! John Kay was never intended to be signed by Global. He just trained with the team since he was clubless and wanted to keep fit. I think he was preparing for a stint back in Australia. Johnny boy is a nice lad. We wish him well.
Deletefor these kids from the youth, it's not about playing. it is about experiencing the moment. grabe magging effect ng experience ng champions league or afc cup sa mga batang to sa confidence nila para makita nila level ng laro and yung crowd sa ibang bansa. sa experience na to magiiba dedication nila at gugistuhin nila magtraining pa para gumaling at marating ang pinaka mataas na level na kaya nila marating. kaya importante din sa bawat club sa philippines na maglagay kahit dalawa or tatlong youth player para sa future.
ReplyDeleteExperience gained from AFC champions league could boost the level of competition sa pagbubukas ng PFL.Interesting davao fielding their own club malaking tulong to promote PFL and football asahan na it will also attract foreign investor to own a local club or buy a shares of stocks.malamang they can finance sa construction ng isang home stadium para sa isang local club.Philippine football is very promising.
ReplyDeleteImai toshiaki ang head coach? What happen ky butcher?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he decided not to sign a contract.
DeleteImai is the former Chinese Taipei and Mongolia NT coach

Thnx Jonny, could someone update the wikipedia page of PFL, with accurate info
DeleteGlobal Fc squad seems a bit weaker than last season ?
ReplyDeleteYou are right jonny but Global is just following the directives of PFL and besides they always edge out Ceres in the top spot even with some locals and foreign pinoys in the mix while ceres is an all foreigner and foreign born pinoys with only casas as the pure Bacolodnon. We'll see in the long run who between the two will be successful but i doubt Kaya, Loyola, Stallions have something to say about it.
Deleteagain it's not about having a weaker squad. it is about balancing the team. they have their own stars like misagh and pika. others are support players complementing their stars. for me global is still a strong team. hopefully they can do well in the champions league or afc cup.
Deletecasas is from cebu. used to play in san beda before lasalle-bacolod recruited him. used to be the first choice keeper of the national team.
Deleteif it is, then it shows Bacolod is not producing quality players or they're just not trusting their own kind and fell in love with foreign based Filipinos..
DeleteAs if they are required to get a hometown player
DeleteBacolod and/or negros is still producing quality players..in any given sunday..local university in bacolod could give uaap/ ncaa a run for their money. In reality, however, ceres is all about $$$. Kudos for global for taking chance with their homegrown player
DeleteToo bad they don't trust even two players from their own in the starting line up. Many players are not looking to play for ceres when they grow up but instead on the other teams and some will just fade away look for a decent job after college life because they know they are the inferiors compared to foreign pinoys as what the trend in our local scene is showing. They're confidence are broken and its such a sad situation to see these kids get negative ratings from their own race. We are the only nation that the elite majority put their trust in the other race and that's how pity our football will be for years to come if we don't give our local kids to shine.
DeleteIt is an honor and privilege for these 5 young born 2000 boys from Pilipinas Dragons to be chosen as part of the Global Men's team for the AFC Champions League. Pilipinas dragons is an organization run by the parents whose sons love football and focus in giving the best for their children because of their love for the sport, and only for that reason alone. For the past 5 years since it was formed, the team has always been about the young players who are committed and passionate in football but at the same time develop the right character and values needed for them to be real sportsmen. Pilipinas Dragons today represents some of the best young players of the country with many talents. Thank you Global FC for the opportunity. All for the glory of God.
ReplyDeleteDarryl Roberts. TT national, new player of global?
