IT IS a busy week for Philippine football as the Mayor Doc Eric Saratan U-18 Ladies National Selection kicks off today at Talisay City football pitch.
A number of young lady booters are eyeing to get a slot in the national training pool are expected to flock in this four-day event scheduled to run April 12 to 15.
Among those expected to see action in this event are the squads from Zamboanga Football Association (FA), Iloilo FA, Negros Oriental FA, San Carlos Football Club, Cebu FA, Rizal FA and host-Negros First team.
PFF summer caravan
Around 70 teams from Manila, Visayas and Mindanao shown off Monday in Talisay City as the annual Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Summer Caravan opened at Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay.
Participating teams competed in the 6-8, 9-10, 11-12 and under 17 years old divisions.
The event, which was co-sponsored by Talisay City Mayor Eric Saratan and Executive Village Football Club headed by Junie Lizares, served as a good venue for match exposures for aspiring football players for them to train this summer.
After the successful caravan in Talisay, the caravan will proceed for the last leg scheduled on April 13 in Barotac, Iloilo. This event started in Cebu last April 7 followed by San Carlos City on April 9.
These events are part of the Philippine Football Federation’s goal to further develop the sports as well as to identify talents who will be part of the future national squad.
