Here is the writeup on that website jonny coutesy of google translate:
ReplyDeleteA total fine tournament in Nagold. The Philippine Football team has been very gratifying as a team. No single action, but a compact team performance. The players came from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy and of course the Philippines.
The team performance was the rewarded and so occupied the 2nd Azkals Place in the tournament. Consider that team has never played with this lineup together. They referred the Stuttgarter Kickers U19 and U19 SSV Reutlingen to the common places third Surprise winner of the VfL Nagold was due to its better goal difference.
The tournament was also the conclusion of the players and sightings of the training camp the last few days for further integration of the players in the Philippine national football team. Phil Dreams Blog wishes everyone a successful future for the player and a recording as a regular player in the Philippines.
Stuttgarter Kickers : Regionalliga Süd (One of the 4th-tier leagues. 54 clubs play in this level)
ReplyDeleteSSV Reutlingen : Oberliga Baden-Württemberg (One of the 5th-tier leagues. Nearly 200 clubs play in this level)
VFL Nagold : Verbandsliga Württemberg (One of the 6th-tier leagues. More than 500 clubs play in this level)
And they're all U-19 squads of each clubs.
So, i don't find anything promising with the results no matter what.
Videos about the Tourney are in upload procedure.

Also german newspapers reported about the historic tournament. ( an official PFF squad never did play in Europe )
NT Coach Weiss was glad with performances of the players. Patrick Reichelt ( 4 goals ) commit through his higher quality that he can join the World Cup qualifier Training preperation camp in Germany! Also OTHER players came in focus to Mr. Weiss especially in relation SEAG 2011 in Indonesia ( sample: Mark Drinkuth, Jaques van Bossche, P. Hinrichsen .. )
BTW: The clubs ( REUTLINGEN , NAGOLD , STUTTGARTER KICKERS ) are playing in the 2nd HIGHEST YOUTH DIVISION in Germany.. STUTTGARTER KICKERS is 2nd in his LEAGUE .. and has chance to play in new season in the highest german YOUTH LEVEL !
ReplyDeletesome people are just very pessimistic...
ReplyDeleteApparently they have a different starting lineup for each game although some played in more than 1 game as befits a blitz tournament where all the games are played in 1 day.
ReplyDeleteHere are a list of starters for some of the games I got from a facebook page: starting 11 of the phil team was, oliver Ptschke (captain), Christopher camcam (GK), Patrick hinrichsen, mark drinkuth, Patrick Reichelt, patrick herget, marcel kohl, Jrgen Ssser, Jaques von Bossche, Kevin Esswein, Christopher Buervenich (against reutlingen), christian sandner.
They only missed first place on goal difference.
Results don't really matter as much as this presents an opportunity to evaluate the players. They were able to identify Reichelt for the Azkals and probably a bunch of younger players for the U-23 team to the SEA games.
To anymous who cant find anything promising:
ReplyDeleteThe player who shoot 4 goals in this tournament played soccer since he was 6 yrs. old. He finished his studies first in mechanical tech. eng. and had his abitur (masteral certificate for the university) before concentrating on soccer. He is already quite known among clubs here in Berlin before going to Enegie Cottbus. You should be touched that this boys were excited to play for the land of their mothers. Especially the player who made the 4 goals, he feels proud that the Filipino blood runs in his veins.
And fact is, in Europe specially Germany we have a very good training program for the boys starting from the minis.
Something is wrong with you. You should support the Philippine Football in heart and in deed.
Why are you very pessimistic? Your remarks is already an insult.
To cjeagle:
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about Patrick Reichelt in usapang football in PinoyFootball.com
Your welcome anonymous. The team needed a forward and hopefully Patrick Reichelt combined with Phil Younghusband and Angel Guirado at attacking mid will score a lot of goals for us.
ReplyDeleteIf you are related to Patrick, thank him for taking interest in the team and representing our country.
The Philippines are just at the beginning of their football life. You have to make step by step and surely won´t be the best from the start.
ReplyDeleteThis boys there are good players and certainly can help the Philippines to progress further. Surely not to world champions or even qualifying to it though. Have patience, and develop your teams further and you will see them becoming better and better.
To the comparison to German teams. Germany is the football country number one in Europe and only second to Brazil in the world. Even teams in the 4th and 5th league there are absolutely quality sides which are already semi professional. So the U20 being able to compete with them really surprised me and shows promising potential.
P.S.: Football is the by far most played sport in the world and ten times more competitive than Basketball for example. So football fans in the Philippines will have to be patient with their team.
But a country of 90 million people + many half Filipinos willing to play for them has the potential to become a powerhouse in Asia for sure.
A word from an interested german to get something right:
ReplyDeleteIt is right that the clubs adult teams don't play in the Bundesliga - but in germany the U19-Teams have their own yout league system and dont play in the same league as the adult teams.
So the person who wrote this is comparing two different things :)
Cool team Jonny
