VALENTINO Calvo played the hero’s role for Lost Boys as they defeated Paref-Springdale B, 1-0, in the Boys 17 championships of the 8th Thirsty Football Cup at the Cebu City Sports Center yesterday.
Just as the game seemed headed to a shootout, Calvo scored in the nick of time.
Calvo’s first shot was deflected by the keeper but the ball went back his way and he struck the rebound from pointblank range for the lone goal of the match.
Lost Boys keeper Leonard Tan was named the MVP.
The Lost Boys are composed players from Don Bosco Technology Center, who are the defending champions of the Boys 17 division. DBTC didn’t field any entry this year but some of its players decided for form teams of their own.
