Grassroots football continued across the country with the conduct of the Regional Festival of Football (FOF) over the past three weeks.
Almost 2,000 young players (boys and girls) participated in the FOFs which are hosted by the PFF Regional Football Associations.
Camiguin Misamis Oriental FA held their FOF last 21 January 2023 at the Pelaez Sports Complex in Cagayan de Oro City.
Central Luzon RFA and Golden Davao, meanwhile, conducted their FOF last 28-29 January at the Tarlac Recreational and Sports Complex and New Bataan, Davao de Oro respectively, while Central Visayas FA had their FOF last 29 January at the Dynamic Herb Sports Complex in Cebu City.
Panay RFA, Eastern Visayas RFA, and Davao South RFA also hosted the FOFs last weekend at the Central Barbara Elementary School in Iloilo, Leyte Sports Development Center in Tacloban, Leyte, and Tionko Football Field in Davao City.
There were also several FOFs held towards the end of last year with Butuan-Agusan Del Norte FA (November 2022) and Iligan-Lanao RFA (December 2022) hosting the FOFs.
The FOF is a venue where young players are identified and scouted for the Training Areas of Development (TAD) Youth Development Program and Youth National Teams.
