Jermiah Borlongan brace powers University of the Philippines past National U in UAAP football

JERMIAH Borlongan netted a brace as University of the Philippines ripped National University, 4-0, in the UAAP football tournament Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The second year midfielder completed the brace in a span of five minutes as the Maroons improved to seven points.
Borlongan scored in the 23rd and 27th minutes to create separation from the struggling Bulldogs.
Kintaro Miyagi and James Paul Condat came up with the finishing touches for the defending champions.
Miyagi scored in the 49th minute for his second goal of the season, while Condat completely shut the door on NU with a 77th minute goal.
A loss or a tie for Ateneo, which is playing UST as of writing time, means UP stays at the top of the table.
The Bulldogs on the other hand remained at the bottom half of the table with one point.

  1. Funny to think that this is another of Anto Gonzales magic but few only knows that his starting eleven are all perennial RP team youth players who belongs to middle and upper class family. Miyagi, Borlongan, Lapas, Yared, Patangan, Casambre, Sanciangco, Dayan and Abraham all comes from the original Little Azkals when they were 12-13 yrs old. They had battle experience in Italy against mighty Serie A youth teams. They also had been to Japan, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos representing tha Philippines before. There other team mates are Diamante and Romero-Salas who now plays under DLSU, Colina of NU and M. Vergara at UE. Other companions (Lovitos, Ebarle, Hamdan, were playing in NCAA under College of St. Benilde. Two players still in senior high are S. Vergara of DLSU-Zobel and Genco of KayaFC. Troy Limbo the only homegrown player to play in Europe right now (Chesterfield FC). So there you have it, the majority of talented players are playing under UP and its no surprise they are on top right now and Anto is in cloud 9 right now.

    2. The original little azkals was formed last 2011 managed by Richard Montayre back then and majority of them are born 1998 while only players were born 1999 such as Genco and S. Vergara of Zobel. Pabualan and Plotena were also members back then in the training camp but was later cut due to documents and Palarong Pambansa conflict. While the little azkals that was sent to UK was under Albert Almendralejo , mostly born 2002 and is under the PFF program to reach the U17 World Cup Qualifier in 2019.
