The Philippine national men’s football team will face Nepal in an international friendly match in April.
The 127th-ranked Azkals will play the Nepal, No. 169 in the world, on April 11 in Doha, Qatar, according to the latest fixtures listed by football governing body FIFA.
The match is expected to be part of the Azkals’ training tour in Qatar where they could also meet a local club for a friendly match.
The Azkals last played Nepal 2011, with the Filipinos coming away with a 4-nil victory at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Under new coach Thomas Dooley, the Azkals battled Malaysia to a scoreless draw last March 1 and yielded a tight 1-nil result to European side Azerbaijan last March 5.
The matches are part of the Azkals’ preparations for the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup in Maldives in May, where a ticket to the prestigious Asian Cup in 2015 is at stake.
