Defending champion Ceres FC begins its quest today in defending their PFF-Smart Club Championships title taking Dumaguete’s Azucal FC at 8:30 a.m. at the North Football Field in Talisay City.
The Ali Go-coached Ceres FC will banner tournament’s “best goalkeeper” Korean Hyoun Jaehun and Louie Michael Casas; defenders Geunh Yeong Park and Hyungmin Sim from South Korea, Angelo Marasigan, Jason Cordova, Camelo Tacusalme, Anthony Tongson, Jalsor Soriano, Lemuel Unabia, Richard Ruiz Sumabong, Jimmy Malalo-an Jr., John Timothy Bolo, Jose Emmanuel Thomas Diel; midfielders Olapido Babasola Okunaiya from United Kingdom, Jayson Panhay, Hanesin Prince Antony, Carlo Tacusalme, Joel Bedia Jr., Rolando Ian Treyes and J Baguioro; reigning “MVP” Byeong Jun Yoon, “best midfielder” Joshua Beloya, Jaime Poderoso Jr., and Jimuel Ariola.
Joining Go in the sideline is assistant coach Cha Soung Yooung from South Korea and physical therapist Augustine Rey Rivas while team manager is Leo Rey Yanson.
On the other hand, in yesterday’s match, Camella-Barotac Nuevo FC of Iloilo FA crashed NORFA’s Azukal FC, 8-3.
Ernie Lazarte led the Ilonggos with three goals as Stephen Tanedo scored twin goals while Gisson Seloterio, Jomar Listingio and Baek Seong Kab with one goal each.
Meanwhile, Remelito Tabunag and John Carl Tuballa nailed goals for Azukals while Iloilo’s Kim Tae Young scored an own goal./WDJ
