Minulu-an draws with Don Bosco in Negros Football Open tourney

It was a 2-all draw for Minulu-an-Talisay and Don Bosco Alumni, while the teams from La Carlota, Bago and Kabanklan hurdled their latest assignment in the 1st Negros Football Open Championship at Panaad Park and Sports Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Allen Shane booted in Don Bosco’s first goal in the 30th minute to momentarily dominate the game, but Mark Kelly Gumban equalized the game for Minulu-an squad in the 44th minute.

Playing more aggressively in the second half, Minulu-an made it 2-1 as Brein Nihan got away from his defender in the 72nd minute, but Don Bosco’s Melecio Manuel Mentor managed to tie the score at 2-all, 10 minutes later.

In the match between La Carlota FC and Cadiz FC, Garylo Talsic broke the ice for La Carlota in the 9th minute, while teammate Mark Gabriel scored two successive goals in the 10th and 12th and Marc Laguartilla put in another one in the 24th minute to put pressure on Cadiz.

Refusing to back down easily, Cadiz scored in the 28th minute courtesy of Marc Laguartilla to peg the score at 4-1, but La Carlota striker Rouel Bacaoco joined the list of scorers with back-to-back goals in the 34th and 35th minute.

Cadiz was able to get another goal from Jimena in the 70th and from Aldrin Cortez in the 56th minute, but La Carlota was too far ahead for Cadiz to catch up. Miguel Aloya sealed the win for La Carlota with a goal before the final whistle blew in the 90th minute.

Meanwhile, Bago outscored Las Bueans Football Club, 7-0, while Kabankalan prevailed over Magallon United, 5-2.

This Saturday four unbeaten teams will try to keep their record unblemished with San Carlos (4-0) playing against Bacolod United (5-0) at 7:30 a.m.; Real Negrense (3-1-0) against Ceres Liner (5-0) at 9:30 a.m., and Pontevedra against against Bago in the afternoon.
