The Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy bucked the absence of two of its players who are serving suspensions, by blanking the Don Bosco (DB) Boys Home, 3-0 in yesterday's resumption of the 13th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sportsfield at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
Dan Villarico led ANS by scoring two goals. Villarico scored in the 20th minute and followed it with another goal five minutes later.
The ANS Pomeroy sealed its second win in the Boys 17 division with Kerth Ryan Arranguez scoring on a free kick in the 30th minute of the match.
In the other Boys 17 match, CIS posted its first win with a, 10-1 win over FECINU.
CIS' Mark Lotzof and Javier Hernandez scattered five goals each while FECINU's lone goal was contributed by Rainier Tan in the first half of the match.
In the Boys 14 division, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) took over the top spot after a, 16-0 rout of the DB Boys Home, while Springdale again played to a 1-all draw against MTI.
In the Boys 12 class, Springdale grabbed the lead after blanking erstwhile leader Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) 1, 6-0, SHS-AdC took its second win beating DB Boys Home, 6-1, while DBTC 2 scored an, 8-2 win over Subangdaku Football Club (SFC).
DBTC C took the top in the Players 10 with a commanding, 14-0 win over DBTC A.
Other matches saw CIS edge SFC, 1-0; SHS-AdC got past Giuseppe, 5-3 and DBTC E routed Bright Academy, 5-0.
DBTC 1 continues to lord it over in the Players 8 with a 10-1 win over DBTC 3. Bright Academy blanked Giuseppe FC, 7-0, while DBTC 2 dumped DBTC 4, 2-0, and DBTC C (Red) slipped past DBTC A (Blue), 4-2.
