DEFENDING champions Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) remains focused on its title retention bid after notching its second win against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in yesterday's 10th CESAFI High School Football Championship at the University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus (USC-TC) field.
Top goal scorers Miguel Caindec and Junjay Arizabal once again led the charge for DBTC's, 4-1 win against SHS-AdC with the former connecting in the 15th, 36th and 79th minute. Arizabal homed one at the 55th minute.
SHS-AdC's lone goal was scored by Peter Pena in the 20th minute into the second half.
It was a busy day for SHS-AdC's goalkeeper as DBTC managed 25 shots with 17 on target.
In the second game, a win proved elusive for USC-NC after it succumbed to the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), 0-5. It was USPF’s second win of the tournament.
Jacob Omega led USPF's onslaught with three goals while Joel Mher Sayre and Dodi Singson contributed one goal each.
In the collegiate division, defending champions University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) will try to recover from its opening match loss when it goes up against the University of Cebu (UC) in today's first game.
USJ-R's title retention bid suffered a major setback when it lost to USPF last weekend.
