DAVAO Football Association (DFA) tournament chair's David Dwight B. Peñano was appointed match commissioner to the AFC Under-16 Championship Group B Qualifying on October 5 to 15 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Peñano, also coach of the Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) football team, was scheduled to leave on Thursday since all match commissioners have to be at the venue three days before the competition.
Group B is composed of Iran, Bahrain, Lebanon, Nepal, Tajikistan and Maldives. Their games will be played at Dashrath and Halchowk stadiums in Kathmandu.
"I give back all the glory to God for this opportunity to learn and experience Asia's top youth competition and meet top caliber coaches and technical people. This is really awesome," Peñano said in a press statement e-mailed to this writer.
