MANILA, Philippines - A heavy six-game bill spread over three venues kicks off hostilities in the LBC-United Football League with Japan-Kline FC taking on Mendiola-EGames FC at Nomads field in Parañaque and Sunken Garden FC clashing with Alabang Grins-Orient Freight FC at the Ateneo field.
Put up by the Football Alliance (FA) in cooperation with the United Football Club Association (UFCA), the UFL aims to further develop the sport and provide a venue for the country’s promising and top players where they could hone their talent and skills.
Sixteen teams composed of over 400 players will be playing a total of 38 games.
Sunken Garden FC takes on Alabang Grins-Orient Freight FC at 1 p.m. while Loyola-ATR FC battles Army-Phiten FC at the Ateneo field in QC.
Navy-Selecta FC opens its bid against United Southern-2GO FC at 1 p.m. while Union-Ruy Project FC and Lions-Alaska FC collide in the 3 p.m. match at Ascom field.
Over at Nomads, Japan-KLine FC squares off with Mendiola-EGames FC at 4 p.m. while Airforce-Rider FC and Mama Africa FC tangle in the 6 p.m. main game.
Sanctioned by the National Capital Region Football Association and the Philippine Football Federation, the UFL hopes to generate interest from football fans with the games open to the public.
