THE Medvil Football Club (FC) beat Seagull FC, 4-2, in the resumption of the Davao FA Women's Open League at the Tionko Football Grounds over the weekend.
Nina Arrieta opened scoring with a goal in the second minute. Tetet Concordo followed it up with another goal in the seventh to give Medvil a 2-0 lead.
Seagull striker Jerika Cantilla, however, scored in the 14th to trim Medvil's lead, 1-2, but Arrieta and Concordo knocked in goals in the 16th and 69th for a 4-1 Medvil advantage.
Joy Rozianne Rivera hit Seagull's second goal in the 80th.
Medvil improved its record to four wins, one draw and two losses for a total of 13 points and good for second spot in the team standings. Seagull (2-0-6) kept the fourth spot with six points.
The Lady Knights FC is still on top with 18 points following a clean 6-0-0 slate while Philippine Women's College (3-0-4)) is in third with nine points and University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao (1-1-4) is at fifth place with four points.
Matches will resume this weekend. The tournament is being organized by the Davao Football Association (DFA).
