LADY Knights Football Club (FC) edged University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao, 2-1, in the resumption of the Davao FA Women's Open League held at Tionko grounds Wednesday.
Lomalyn Fama and Kim Maligad scored in the 38th and 48th minutes, respectively, to lead the charge for league-leader Lady Knights, who remained unbeaten after seven outings.
UP-Mindanao striker Ellen Cuizon found the net in the 75th.
Her teammate Krishna Fernandez failed to force a tie after her shot hit the goal post.
The Lady Knights are still on top with a seven-win, zero-draw and zero-loss card while UP Min stayed at the bottom with a 1-1-5 record.
Medvil occupied the second spot with a 4-1-2 mark followed by Philippine Women's College (3-0-4) and Seagull (2-0-6).
Matches will resume on Saturday in the meet organized by the Davao Football Association (DFA). (MLSA)
