UFL postpones games amid schedule conflict

MANILA, Philippines - The United Football League (UFL) has revised its schedule to give way to the games of Ceres-La Salle FC and Stallion FC in the group stage of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Smart Club National Championship to be held in Iloilo and Bacolod, respectively.
As per the original schedule of the UFL FA League Cup, the first competition for this year football season in the country’s premier league, Ceres and Stallion both have games on Sunday, September 28 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium (RMFS) in Manila.
On the other hand, they are also scheduled to play games in their home provinces for the group stage of the national club championships, which is organized by the PFF, from September 26 to 28.
Reigning and defending national club champs Ceres FC, a club under the Negros Occidental Football Association, will be competing in Group A in Bacolod while Stallion FC, representing Iloilo Football Association, will play in Group B in Iloilo.
According to the new schedule released by the UFL on Friday, September 26, the game of Ceres FC versus Philippine Army FC, originally scheduled on Sunday, September 29, is now moved to October 23 still at the RMFS while the game of between Stallion FC and Manila Jeepney FC, first booked to be on September 29, will now be played on October 20 at the Emperador Stadium.
Meanwhile, the game of Laos FC and Manila All-Japan FC will also be moved from Tuesday, September 30 to Sunday, October 5.
As of press time, Stallion FC already played its debut game for the group stage of the national football stint, conquering Del Monte FC of Bukidnon with a commanding 7-1 victory.
Ceres FC, however, will be playing is first match in Group A on Saturday, September 27 against DMCC FC of Dipolog. -Rappler.com
