Ceres FC appoints new coach as they gear up for FA League Cup

Two-time Philippine Football Federation National Men’s Club champions and Bacolod City-based football club Ceres-La Salle FC are in rigid training for the FA League Cup. The tournament kicks off on September 20 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Ceres FC recently appointed Korean Cha Soungyooung as the club’s new head coach alongside assistants Ian Treyes and Jason Cordova.
The Korean tactician has served for two years as the club’s technical director.
“I think there’s no major adjustment in the team. I’ve been working with the team for couple of years and they are organized,” the Korean coach said.
Meanwhile, former head coach Ali Go is now the club’s director.
Geared towards the upcoming FA League Cup, the Bacolod-based side fortified its roster with more national standouts suiting up for the team, namely: Azkals veteran keeper and Bago City-native Eduard Sacapaño, forward Nate Burkey, and midfielder Paul Mulders.
Among others suiting up for the Ceres FC are club ace goal keeper Michael Casas, Camelo Tacusalme, Arnie Pasinabo Jr., Lemuel Unabia, Jalsor Soriano, J Baguioro, Layson Panhay, Marvin and Marwin Angeles, Patrick Reichelt, Carlie de Murga, Jason Sabio, Manny Ott, Angel Guirado, Orman Okunaiya, Adrián Gallardo, Kevin Capolei, Jin ho Kim, Kim Sang min, Kyum-Son ChoYong Chan Son, Jeffrey Christaeans, and Angelo Marasigan.
Ceres FC is in Group A – considered as the Group of Death – alongside Loyola’s Meralco Sparks, Stallion GC, Manila Jeepney FC, Pachanga Diliman FC, Green Archers United, and Army FC.
In Group B are Global FC, Kaya FC, Team Socceroo FC, Manila All Japan, Forza FC, Laos FC and Dolphin United FC./
