  1. Looks like the rumors are true. I wonder if this is only because of Neil or the other veterans or if there is another reason for his resignation. Either way, way to go Schröcky! Balls of Steel!

These are going to be very hard months for Philippine football.

  2. Let other azkals speak. Dont like dooley either.

  3. With coach Dooley I saw vast improvement of the Azkals. It made me realized that the team can go on with the little help of the foreign based players. By giving chance to the young oand home grown ones. I never saw that with Weiss. Heck I will never go back again with the team that plays a lot of long balls.

    1. What home grown you talking about? All these young players that are getting a chance aren't home grown except for Aguinaldo and Deyto.

Even then, it was Weiss who gave the former his debut and the guy is still only 19. Deyto isn't exactly young either at 24 and Weiss also rated him highly but needed him to bide his before getting his chance.

As for long balls, it's not as if Weiss told the players to play long balls! That's just stupid! If you also take away certain players, even with Dooley as coach, they'll be found wanting and you'll end up seeing more long ball type football.

    2. even Cagara admitted that Dolley is more tactically superior than Weiss. me thinks these are just cases of broken egos. that's all. we can live without them Schrockies. it's sad and very unprofessional for him to air our his gripes on social media to attract sympathy from fans. well, he is never getting mine.

  4. Dennis Cagara has also retired because of Dooley! Now it begins! Neil will probably be next.

Dooley has to do something. If too many players resign then he is done.

    1. good for them coz they are no longer effective and much useful. There are lot of players both local and philfors who can take their place. Coach Dooley is exposing young UFL players. If we will be exposing old players how the Philippines will progress. Coach Dooley I think is a good disciplinarian. Schrock and Menggoy are spoiled brats they are like kids

  5. These foreign-based players commit a big mistake. They show lack of discipline and give priority to their egos. They must remember they are players first. They cannot dictate. In "resigning", they disrespect the sports, the Filipino football fans and the country. I say, good luck and good riddance, overrated adult players!

    1. Good because the ability of Neil compare to Deyto has the edge now and Cagara is being rejected in his club this shows that he is deteriorating. Go home early from Maldives is just only an alibi. He was ashame of his mistakes in that tournament.

  6. Remember the time when Coach Weiss took over? Yes, not too long ago when some players from Mcmenemy's era didn't took too kindly about the change of regime if you will. Some will fall out of favours in the new regime and so this struggle happens. We've seen this before, but the Azkals will move on. I just hope that for players, your job is to compete for the spot and play for the country, first and foremost. Whatever changes/politics that is happening in the new leadership is secondary.

    1. seriously man, i think some of the players got so used to the Weiss style of automatic starting spot even clubless. i think some players are just banding without respecting the new system of merit. dooley clearly has no issues with the likes of shrocky that competes regularly. i think he made it very clear from the start that you need to be with a club and be playing regularly. Take Angel G for instance. Under Wiess, he gets a spot even clubless. But under Dooley, he wouldn't take players that are without a club basically. And i think that's what happened with NE. Is Dooley fair? I think his system of competing for the spot and clear merit is fair. but i think the some of the players are just banding together... Now, i dont presume to know what goes on inside the PFF, but clearly there's the failure of the management that has been going on for some time has really been blown out to the public. I hope this is a wakeup call to the management.

  7. Curious to know how many of you making comments and comparisons between players have actually watched these players perform in training? To say Deyto is much better than Neil is a misguided statement. Deyto is good and has a bright future. But he's not yet at Neil's level, despite the injury trouble he's had.

Finally, the part of the message but sent by these players which is being overlooked is regarding the PFF. Their are people there that work their butt off for the good of Philippine Football. However, there are certain folks not entirely attached to the PFF but represent the National Team group who are unprofessional and position themselves to reap the benefits and recognition without actually contributing positively.

    3. Worst part is that Pascual is included, and not Neil. There are good homegrown players, but they need more experienced players besides them on the field. Aguinaldo for instance, he has potential, but he made many "junior" mistakes during the games which couldve led to goals for the opponents. Personally I think it was a risk to let him play that much when big things were at risk.

  8. Some people don't understand what this could mean. Not only do we lose two of our most important players, but we lose two of our biggest stars at the same time. This means people will begin to lose interest in the sport. Especially after someone as good as Schröck is gone.

  9. Schrock maybe a good player individually (no question to that) but he's style of play in the national team is more on individuality and showboating (more touches for him while less touches for the other team mates) He's just using the National team so other clubs will offer him big money move.
Football is played as a team not an individual sport. Only people who are mesmerized by his skills are begging for his services while people who who studies football for along time and with great IQ's knows the influence of Stephan and the risk of playing with his ego are dangerous. I don't know Dooley yet but if his system works wonders without the "superstars of Philippine Football" then its a good riddance anyway...

    2. What kind of fart are you two sniffing? Stop acting like observers of the game when you clearly don't understand what a talisman is.

    3. Talisman ba kamo?

Crab mentality-kind of player/fan..

  10. Schrock is a selfish(?) player because he's intelligent enough to know that half of the Azkals players around him waste most balls they get. Knockout tournament football is about scoring goals. Teams in the bottom half of the FIFA rankings don't have enough players talented enough to understand real team play. If one bright individual knows how to get the ball into the net then let him have as much of it as he wants. Coaching team tactics can only be done on the training ground or in friendlies. And it will still be pretty useless if most of the squad are not savvy or experienced enough to implement it.
Take a look at how many games have been played under Dooley and how many goals the Azkals have scored.

    1. i think that's an unfair way of looking at the team under dooley. look, you can look back to other coach's early performance and it's not that far off from dooley scoring wise. However, you can look at how the team plays under dooley and they are much more fluid. scoring will come.

  11. Whaaaat? team tactics can only be done in training and in friendlies and not in tournaments? Are you from Mars? Get a coaching Course you idiot. You have no slightest idea what you are talking about...

Team tactics can't be taught in a classroom. They can only be learned by experience. That's why FIFA 'emerging' football nations take years to become 'developing' ones - even if the coach was Jose Mourinho - and a lot more years to become 'developed' ones.

  13. Teams can't win games if the players are disorganized or players aren't playing for each other. Think of France in the 2010 World Cup. There was talk that some player didn't want to pass to other players.
