Dooley taps German asst coach

by Olmin Leyba
MANILA, Philippines - Azkals coach Thomas Dooley has tapped German Sebastian Stache to assist him in whipping the Pinoy booters into shape for their next international sorties like the Philippine Peace Cup and the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup.
Stache, 34, played for TSV Emmelshausen and TuS Argenthal, before serving as Youth Coordinator at the prestigious German Club Alemannia Aachen. He got his coaching diploma at the German Sports Academy in Cologne then came in as assistant coach at former first league club 1 FC Homburg.
“I’ve known him for years. He’s somebody who does a lot of behind-the -scenes work, analyzing games and his knowledge is great,” Dooley said.
“For me, what’s important is he studied sports science. Today, it’s important that you’re 100 percent fit on game time so that’s something you really have to study and he did it. So he’s an asset for us,” he added.
