  2. As usual, the boyband concert started.
Seriously it's annoying and embarrassing to hear girls screaming every fucking moments azkals get the ball or move forward.

    1. this is just blind hate. look at the tactics deployed, it is more fluid and they have more cohesive flow.

    2. leo laporte wtf are you replying to? I was just talking about the crowd. No, i'd rather call them an audience.

    3. if you are distracted by the crowd then you are not paying attention to the the match. a crowd that's cheering for you is a great thing! btw 2-0 phi. like i said blind hate.

    4. If you find the high pitch screaming annoying then fine. But why is that embarrassing? Must be males only that can support their fellow countrymen. You're an idiot if you find it embarrassing. In fact there is nothing more embarrassing than you complaining like a grumpy old fart about the Philippine women supporting their own. I think you're just looking to find something to complain here. That's a bad habit to always complain for nothing you know. Cheers!

    5. What a fucktarded duo you above two. Can't you fucking read?
I said "EVERY FUCKING MOMENTS" azkals touch the ball.
It's embarrassing because this says a lot about the crowd, i.e., they don't fucking know about football. It's like watching your retarded sister clap and scream every time she wants in a classical music concert.

    6. You fool! Not everyone that goes to a game must know about the game they are watching. They are there to support their countrymen and perhaps a time to get a break from work as well and that's all that matters. Why do you make a fuss about it so much? That's how they support and react to the game and that's that no big deal. If you go to home games of different teams they have their own way of doing things as well. Watching and supporting your team is not standardized you fool! You know what you're waste of time... Go on and complain as much as you want. You're a hopeless fool. :D

    7. It's just fine in the second half. Seems the crowd ran out of the energy in the first half lol

    8. pati ba naman crowd tinitira mo pa? obviously they'll cheer the same way they cheer on basketball games, because they are mostly curious OFWs who don't know the sport football. they went in the sstadium because of free entrance

  3. Exciting football. Nice to see the Philippines getting 3 goals. Passing has improved, even against a weaker team. Everyone on the pitch seems to know what they are doing.

About the crowd.. take it easy. These are OFWs not hardline football nuts from Europe.

They live halfway up Mt Everest.

  5. I have to agree with Anonymous 19:54. It does say something about the support and how this sport is being supported in this country. We have little to no organized fan groups that chant and support the team all the way. Even in the Philippines you hear high pitched screaming most of the time when players have the ball. No fan chants, no drums, nothing. In the UFL only Loyola, Kaya and Global have something like that but they are all too small to make an impact. All in all, people supporting the NT are just there for the good looking players, not for the game itself!

    1. Agreed. I'd take it further by saying that the type of "support" football (usually the NT) or perhaps most sports in general, it says a lot about the Filipino culture where it's very show biz like. Most are there only because of the fad or a person in particular that they like or have a crush on or whatever rather than the sport itself. So ya, it's quite embarrassing when all you hear is from the Filipino support is, AAAYYYY, AAAAHHH, EEEEKKKK... and shit like that.

    2. Have you been outside the country and work for years and missing the Philippines? I bet not. When you have been abroad working for years you long for something from home. When opportunities like this come around here we come out in droves because it's something that represents us in this foreign land. It's not always about football or anything but for the country and a part of you. How is that embarrassing? When you come to think of it there is no football culture in the Philippines as this has only been in limelight for a few years only. Why should you be ashamed of that? We are not a football conscious nation just yet so why be embarrassed by us coming to see the game here in Qatar or in the middle east in general?

    2. hello miss,

im sorry that you like to point out the wrong things in football. im just glad that the azkals have a new way of playing and are implementing them. to develop a football culture it take years to nurture talent and have a quality grass roots program.
you can see some of it already taking fruit. take basketball for example, quality players were mostly mestizos (Loyzaga, Arnaiz, Jowo) but locals were also developing too which by the way a lot of girls were screaming at the time too. they were wining games which most of asia were not into basketball anyway.
you take football that is very competitive around the globe but slowly but surely they(azkals) made improvements and raise the profile of football in the philippines which is a good thing. eventually football will be as popular as basketball. how would a very populous country only have basketball as the only team sport that matter.

      Delete
    3. Im talking tisoy imports not jawo loyzaga coz they are all homegrowns. Those imports we dont have any idea how they play not unlike locals who has exposure in uaap ncca etc who has attracted followers and follow them

      Delete
    4. hey maam,
they are not imports they have Filipino blood and have much as any other Filipino the right to choose to represent the Nation in football.
next issue is not like they just appeared from another dimension and not know them. you dont even know most of the local azkals type of play so argument is invalid. in fact it is racist mentality your trying to hide. heres a question, will happen when Sandro Reyes will one day play for the Philippines? you dismis him as a foreign import cuz he play most of his time in Barcelona? i bet you will argue again that he is born in the Philippines and it does not count. But so does most of the "foreign imports" you label.
and finally what if a local player does not go to the collage system but went to the academy system? he wont be expose and therefore not a lot of people will know him?

all this is just hate in a emotional level nothing more.

    1. Sandro Reyes is a diamond in the rough, being polish in a different place. and that polish make a world of difference. that argument of "not knowing where they come from" is so ridiculous. the Philippines has lots of competent scouts around the globe and those player have better documentation of their credentials. quality of players takes importance and being balance play the introduction of local players.
btw, only 2 out of the 22 national team played outside the Phil. during this training camp?

Racism takes many form including your empty assertions. Each time i call you out, you make exception and aversion to perfectly well thought of points made. i am dealing with hate here. plain and Simple!

    2. Yes but you should give it up. Full-blooded filipinos willnever accept half-bloods as filipinos. Plain and simple. At most they will only see you as half but most of the time it will be mainly the foreign side.

And this per se isn't a bad thing! Half-bloods can represent the country just as much as locals and full foreigners can. The problem is that we have little to no locals in our team. How is that supposed to inspire locals to play football, when their only chance of getting into the NT is to somehow go abroad and train there? The UFL teams need to step up their game in this respect and develop more home grown talents. Otherwise this success will be short lived.

    3. Here we go again with this nonsense. Plain and simple, locals only cannot stand on their own to stay competitive. We've done it for the longest time and nothing came substantial about. I swear sometimes local Filipinos have this backward mentality. You all need to see the world sometimes when you get the chance. I assure you that you will see things differently. The world is getting smaller and smaller yet many filipinos are still so closed minded. Funny coz these "foreigners" you all are branding are actually calling themselves filipinos when they are in Enlgland, Germany, or anywhere else. It's true. Half-bloods see themselves filipino first and then whatever second; it's how they've been raised at home by their mothers. Then they come to the Philippines and people are calling them differently. That's just sad.... And, when these half-bloods do well outside and become famous, then these same filipinos shutting them down are claiming them as one of their own. It's all bullshit and jealous and insecure mentality that these filipinos have, It's ridiculous.

  8. "Full-blooded filipinos willnever accept half-bloods as filipinos. Plain and simple. At most they will only see you as half but most of the time it will be mainly the foreign side."

That's actually true. It's like somebody who is half Caucasian half black, they will usually be considered black unless them being black isn't obvious in their physical traits.

    1. your sweeping generalization is indeed not true there are a lot of mixed heritage that are well accepted in their society.
guessing from the example you provided you are referring to western culture? then your are dead wrong in that case. Caucasians are slowly becoming less and less the majority of the make up of the population.

as for agreeing with the statement "Full-blooded filipinos will never accept half-bloods as filipinos" those type of people are mostly in the undereducated and insecure category of society. another term for that is racist, which i wont let it to ignore and continue. sad fact is racism is part of filipino culture, like how tagalogs treat other filipinos.

i find it funny that no one has talk about match and how both sides played. it is always the ignorant that talked about the silly things.

  9. fil foreigners are welcome here. It is good that they remember philippines. But locals need the job more than the fil foreigners. The unemployment rate is so high here that it is scandalous that they favor foreigners. tsk tsk tsk ufl should benefit locals not the fil foreigners that is a bad deal

    1. It's a tricky thing for the UFL because I'm sure they have in mind to develop the Filipinos into competitive players but on the other hand they need to sell as well. If they can't sell, the league wont be sustainable and that's a reality of this league. The UFL needs to sell and to do that they need attractive football as their product. The fil-fors and or foreigners themselves bring technical advantage that makes the game look attractive. It's a tricky thing. The UFL is a business after all. Trust me, if they make the league exclusively locals they will fold; No TV coverage, no money coming in to sustain the level they are at the moment. Right now, the UFL just can't afford do that just yet... Maybe when football becomes integral into our culture then we can have that balance.

      Delete
    2. I agree with Anonymous 12 April 2014 23:55 but I am not fully supportive of an all local league type but more of a 6 homegrown players plus 5 fil foreigners and imports.

      Delete
  10. The fil foreigners are not a factor at all. How come from two matches they brought in down to one? and it is still in aksyon tv lol even uaap volleyball already beat them and was shown on channel 2 not just studio 23. So, fil - foreigners dont bring anything except unwanted babies lol

    ReplyDelete
  11. Take them all out altogether and you wont have a league like the UFL at all, with all the sponsors and everything else. College sports has strong fan bases (think about all the students, alumni, and everyone else associated to that school) compare to club football that most of the country has only heard of in the last 2 years or so? The UFL's success is closely tied to the Azkals. The Azkals success and popularity has largely been boosted by the fil-fors. So take them all out and "boom" football is back to where it was when people didn't even know the Philippines had a national team. So yes fil-fors are a factor. Santi Araneta knows that. Dan Palami knows that. If you understand business then you understand what they bring to the table (on and off the pitch). :D

    1. No. Lol u didnt answer my question at all. Just like what u said, develop the locals coz they have the fanbase. Dont be a nuthugger bro fil fors are so 2010 lol they dont attract sponsors anymore kya nga di pinapalabas sa network azkals kc ampaw

      Delete
    2. Idiot! Your reading comprehension is poor. Read it again.

The sponsors are already in contract. The broadcast could simply be due to demand favoring UAAP volleyball or simply just time slot conflict. Like I said, college games have strong fanbase and football is fairly new to people's memories. The reason why the games are still on aksyon is because that's the network the UFL have contract with. That's how it works. Unless Aksyon sells that right to broadcast the UFL games to other networks.

Look, I dont think there is anyone against the idea of our locals playing to get better. Of course we want that and that's the ultimate goal. But this isn't basketball we are talking about. This is football. We dont have that many players (local) that can be competitive at all at this time. If only you have followed our MNT pre-2010 then you will understand how integral a number of fil-fors for the success of the team and football in the country in general.

      Delete
    3. Hey Ano 00:40, you are absolutely right. fil fors are so 2010. So why is that still an issue for you? If you want progress then perhpas you should start with your peanut size brain and its capacity see beyond the divisions within our pool of players. They play for the country then they are filipinos, and nothing more and nothing less. just filipinos.

      Delete
    4. This is not a filipino team at all. It is quite embarassing. We are just trying hard and just for the profit

      Delete
    5. Ano 10:22 is another one of those peanut sized brain that cannot see beyond the divisions. I'm not even a filipino by blood but I support the team. Now you must have a problem with that as well I suppose? That's the very thing I dont understand with you people that says this is not even a filipino team. How filipino must one be? What is it that makes one a filipino? If you want purity then perhaps you should field the natives that has no trace of any other ethnicity in their DNA. I suppose acceptance is really an issue for a culture that lacks diversity or very homologous (not to demean but simply an observation).

  13. Not a Filipino team? Have you seen the mix of the french squad. If France had the same mentality that some of these people have we wouldn't see the likes of zidane and whose parents were both of Algerian immigrants wear the french colours or let alone lift the world cup.

Ive been reading this nonsense for the past few years and i don't know if these people just don't get it Or are just too spiteful that they don't have the talent to play. There are JUST a few questions that i would like to ask.

    1) What do you consider a "pure" filipino?
    2) Should the NT consider excluding a person of mixed parentage who was born outside
the Philippines and require that a player of mix parentage be born here.
    3) Should we also exclude people born outside of the the philippine but were born of
    both filipino parents?
    4) should we favor a player who hails from a particular region?
    5) should we favor a player that come from a certain province?
    6) maybe we could just stoop to measuring the length of a players noses!

And lastly, I'm expecting to get answers or comments like "bobo ka pala!" or " wala kang alam as football/futbol Or soccer". But it really doesn't matter! Players of mix parentage and dual nationality is a trend in the world of sport football does not have a monopoly in this. It is a trend or maybe a fixture for the foreseeable future. Or who knows it maybe a fixture of our NT.
