If France had the same mentality that some of these people have we wouldn't see the likes of zidane and whose parents were both of Algerian immigrants wear the french colours or let alone lift the world cup.

Ive been reading this nonsense for the past few years and i don't know if these people just don't get it Or are just too spiteful that they don't have the talent to play. There are JUST a few questions that i would like to ask.

1) What do you consider a "pure" filipino?
2) Should the NT consider excluding a person of mixed parentage who was born outside
the Philippines and require that a player of mix parentage be born here.
3) Should we also exclude people born outside of the the philippine but were born of
both filipino parents?
4) should we favor a player who hails from a particular region?
5) should we favor a player that come from a certain province?
6) maybe we could just stoop to measuring the length of a players noses!

And lastly, I'm expecting to get answers or comments like "bobo ka pala!" or " wala kang alam as football/futbol Or soccer". But it really doesn't matter! Players of mix parentage and dual nationality is a trend in the world of sport football does not have a monopoly in this. That's the very thing I dont understand with you people that says this is not even a filipino team. How filipino must one be? What is it that makes one a filipino? If you want purity then perhaps you should field the natives that has no trace of any other ethnicity in their DNA. I suppose acceptance is really an issue for a culture that lacks diversity or very homologous (not to demean but simply an observation). The broadcast could simply be due to demand favoring UAAP volleyball or simply just time slot conflict. Like I said, college games have strong fanbase and football is fairly new to people's memories. The reason why the games are still on aksyon is because that's the network the UFL have contract with. That's how it works. Unless Aksyon sells that right to broadcast the UFL games to other networks.

Look, I dont think there is anyone against the idea of our locals playing to get better. Of course we want that and that's the ultimate goal. But this isn't basketball we are talking about. This is football. We dont have that many players (local) that can be competitive at all at this time. If only you have followed our MNT pre-2010 then you will understand how integral a number of fil-fors for the success of the team and football in the country in general. College sports has strong fan bases (think about all the students, alumni, and everyone else associated to that school) compare to club football that most of the country has only heard of in the last 2 years or so? The UFL's success is closely tied to the Azkals. The Azkals success and popularity has largely been boosted by the fil-fors. So take them all out and "boom" football is back to where it was when people didn't even know the Philippines had a national team. So yes fil-fors are a factor. Santi Araneta knows that. Dan Palami knows that. If you understand business then you understand what they bring to the table (on and off the pitch). :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4558039822687564906.post-44932602360102336852014-04-13T12:04:40.722+02:002014-04-13T12:04:40.722+02:00yung pagkuha ng gilas kay andrey blatche bakit di ...yung pagkuha ng gilas kay andrey blatche bakit di niyo gawing issue yon? If they can't sell, the league wont be sustainable and that's a reality of this league. The UFL needs to sell and to do that they need attractive football as their product. The fil-fors and or foreigners themselves bring technical advantage that makes the game look attractive. It's a tricky thing. The UFL is a business after all. Trust me, if they make the league exclusively locals they will fold; No TV coverage, no money coming in to sustain the level they are at the moment. Right now, the UFL just can't afford do that just yet... Maybe when football becomes integral into our culture then we can have that balance. We've done it for the longest time and nothing came substantial about. I swear sometimes local Filipinos have this backward mentality. You all need to see the world sometimes when you get the chance. I assure you that you will see things differently. The world is getting smaller and smaller yet many filipinos are still so closed minded. Funny coz these "foreigners" you all are branding are actually calling themselves filipinos when they are in Enlgland, Germany, or anywhere else. It's true. Half-bloods see themselves filipino first and then whatever second; it's how they've been raised at home by their mothers. Then they come to the Philippines and people are calling them differently. That's just sad.... And, when these half-bloods do well outside and become famous, then these same filipinos shutting them down are claiming them as one of their own. It's all bullshit and jealous and insecure mentality that these filipinos have, It's ridiculous.
