Defending champion Trimaxi-Agro will put its title at stake when the 3rd Conference of the North Footbpall League (NFL) kicks off tomorrow at the Ayala North football pitch in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
The Eric Gallego-managed Trimaxi is expected to come up with a huge performance this conference following their successful campaign during the finals.
Trimaxi was able to notch the finals berth after defeating former tournament leader and powerhouse squad Dynamic Builders FC. Meanwhile, runner-up Real Negrense FC headed by William Clauor is looking at getting back into the finals and win the crown.
Despite being an underdog, Real was able to oust erstwhile defending champion Ceres FC mentored by Norman Fegidero Jr. during last conference semis, 1-0.
Dynamic Builders and Ceres FC are likewise eyeing to regain their top positions in this conference final. Other teams expected to come out and play tough are the young Silver Dragon FC and Las Buenas FC.
Tournament commissioner Ramon Janeo earlier said last conference’s outcome only proved that as the years go by, teams competing in the tournament also improved and are getting tougher and stronger. Thus, making this competition balanced and more exciting. Draw lots for the game schedules are ongoing as of presstime./WDJ
