Pia wants probe on sex complaint vs 2 Azkals

MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Pia Cayetano called on the country’s sports officials to conduct an independent probe on the sexual harassment case filed by former Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Cristy Ramos against two members of the Philippine Azkals.

“I call for an immediate investigation of this incident so this can be put to rest, not only because this is a serious allegation made by Match Commissioner Cristy Ramos, who is a sports official, but also because the Azkals are looked up to by the youth as modern-day heroes and role models,” Cayetano said in a statement Monday.

She also expressed her support for Ramos, who was serving as a match commissioner for the Azkals’ friendly against Malaysia last February 29 when the sexual harassment incident allegedly occurred.

“Sexual harassment must not be tolerated anytime, anywhere. Such acts should not go unpunished,” Cayetano said in a statement Monday.

Last Friday, Ramos filed a sexual harassment complaint with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee against Azkals players Lexton Moy and Angel Guirado.

  1. Have these two women nothing better to do than make fools of themselves (and their country) in public?
If a comment about bra's and exposing your underpants in a male athletes' changing room is 'sexual harrassment' what would they call tens of thousands of young girls being forced into the sex trade by dire poverty or endless unemployment?
But of course the morals of the rich in PHI have always been different to those of ordinary people.

  2. Being fair with the 2 concerned players., it is not good you have to expose to much from the left to the right explanations,., which is still we did not hear anything the sides of the concerned players and I guess u had to talk with staffs of the AZKALS already and they promise u to do the right necessary disciplinary actions against your complain besides u had written the AFC concerned... Is there anything behind attention other than that..??

Its supposed to be a friendly match between the Phil. VS Malaysia. But ended up to one Filipina official against the National football team. Ramos wanted to start a riot here. She should be busy promoting sports and rallying Filipinos to support the National team in the AFC challenge cup rather than pursuing her personal problems. Spoiled bratt.
