PFF U23 Championship qualifiers start on Sunday :
Leyte vs Cebu , 2 pm at Leyte Sports Development Center
NORFA(Dumaguete) vs NOFA (Bacolod) in Dumaguete at Silliman ground
NOFA is represented by Ceres-La Salle University (Bacolod)
Cebu is represented by the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), but have strengthen their team with other players .
Iloilo wil also be playing in the qualifiers

Home and away matches for each team
The top three teams in the Visayas eliminations will face the top three teams from Luzon and the top four teams from the Mindanao eliminations in the national finals.
For the national finals, the teams will be divided into two groups and the top two teams will advance to the semis. The finals will also be a home-and-away affair.

ReplyDeleteAng lakas ng NOFA(Bacolod), Beloya is playing. I saw them practice yesterday in Silliman Univeristy Football Field.

ReplyDeleteI think this will be a massacre, maybe 5-0. NORFA's preparation is not that good. Some players were even playing for their different club instead of practicing together for the match.

ReplyDelete^^ Moris Tulang(NORFA's leading scorer last year) didn't play. Why? I think he is still eligible to play. He played in the Silliman Cup championship representing Foundation University, the game played right after the Suzuki U23 match. I hope an insider can shed light on this.

4 slots should be given to visayas and not to mindanao!
joshua beloya mother from bacolod city, school la salle university bacolod. valmayor from san carlos city son of the mayor,school up diliman.correct me if im wrong. negrosanon or negrense ang tawag sa mga taga negros occidental. ilonggo or hiligaynon tawag sa langunage. hindi ko alam yung ibang line up ng nofa may taga iloilo ba? si bedic nandiyan pa? :)
ReplyDeletea good match between nofa and norfa. norfa performed way better than we expected considering the experience of their players (average age is around 19) and the length of their preparation.
ReplyDeletenofa had a LOT of attempts but only produced a 1-0 lead in the first half.
the exchange in 2nd half was pretty much the same. nofa made it 2-0 before norfa's never-say-die attitude produced one goal to make it 2-1. with a few changes and substitutions, nofa added 2 more goals.
credit goes to nofa's midfield. they were all over the place.
possession was around nofa 60-40
** most of last year's players and other players with greater experience were not released by their school Foundation University. +grabbed the championship in the men's division and second place in the women's division in the 2011 Futsal League Visayas Eliminations
+that's where coaches piñero and cabalida (national team), players morallo, elnar, cutamora (loyola) went to school.
it seems that the issue with the school and the local FA will continue for years.
