CEBUANO booters made it to the Visayas selection of the national training pool in the Boys under-14 and Girls under-13 elite team.
The players were chosen after the Philippine Football Federation Regional Football Festival held last weekend at San Carlos City.
Little Azkals’ head coach Oliver Colina chose Don Bosco Technology Center’s Moiselle Alforque, Kenry Balobo, Vincent Lovitos and Angelo Chirstian Ouano, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s Kintaro Miyagi and Jose Marie Kwan, University of Southern Philippine Foundation’s Lawrence Colina and Abellana National School’s Major Dean Ebarle.
In the women’s Under-13, head coach Eleazar Toledo and PFF technical director John Carmona selected Jan Angela Torrefiel, Samantha Claire Toledo, Itsuko Bacatan, Arantxa Marie Trebol, Amber Villaflor and Alexa Ceniza.
From the training pool will emerge the official players for the national team that will compete in the AFC Festival of Football.
Aside from the scheduled matches against other football associations, the skiils test had become an important component in the selection.
The skills test is a separate activity from the games with four stations, the juggling, running with the ball, accurate passing and dribbling and shooting.
The players will be gathered after the development games scheduled in Iligan on March 2 to 4 and in Manila on March 9-12.
