Top seed La Salle seeks to end a 17-year wait for a UAAP men’s football title when it clashes with defending champion Far Eastern U in the Season 77 finals today at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Green Booters hope to end their unbeaten season in a blaze of glory against an FEU side that boasts of the finest attacking talents in the collegiate game.
While La Salle has displayed cohesion and superb team play this season, FEU has relied mainly on the brilliance of Arnel Amita, Eric Giganto and Jess Melliza in its bid for a second straight crown.
The three FEU stars have combined for a total of 36 goals this season.
The winner-take-all clash at 4 p.m. with both teams making one of the most competitive seasons in recent years.
FEU is actually gunning for two titles today with its women’s side taking on University of the Philippines in the finals kicking off at 2 p.m.
