- THE Philippine women’s football team opened its campaign in the 27th Southeast Asian Games on the wrong foot, losing to host Myanmar, 2-0, on Tuesday.Khin Malar Tun scored the first goal for the Burmese side, taking advantage of the Malditas' lapse on defense in the 29th minute before Than Than Htwe struck in the 57th.The Malditas hope to atone on Friday in their last Group A preliminary match against defending titlist Vietnam where a semifinal seat will be at stake.The Malditas are the lone football team of the Philippines in this year’s edition of the biennial meet after the Under-23 Azkals failed to get the nod of the Philippine Olympic Committee-Philippine Sports Commission SEA Games Task Force.
