The Philippine Football Federation has released the pricelist of game tickets for the Philippine Azkals’ fi rst-round World Cup qualifying game against Sri Lanka at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
MANILA, Philippines – Tickets will be available on June 3 with 8,000 general admission seats sold at P200 while the midsection seats at P300, according to PFF treasurer Bonnie Ladrido.
The 5,000 VIP seats will be divided into two sections and will be sold at P2,000 and P3,000, respectively. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketworld.
The match, set July 3, is the second of two-leg series with first leg slated in Colombo, Sri Lanka five days earlier.
The winner of the home-andaway series will meet Kuwait in the second round.
Tickets appear expensive because it is only the PFF which will shoulder the expenses for the refurbishment of the 77-yearold venue, sponsorship negotiations with San Miguel Corporation broke down.“Prices reflect that PFF will be footing the bill for refurbishing the stadium after negotiations with sponsors failed to progress,” said Ladrido, also the head of the local organizing committee for the tournament.

The tickets don't appear expensive. They ARE expensive. No need to sugar coat the reality. Tell it like it is.
ReplyDeleteI hope the VIP section gets full. The general admission will, no doubt.
To low prize for VIP´s ... a VIP for sure laugh about such discount prize. Why not 10 000 php or above ?
ReplyDeleteApparently the reason they had such high ticket prices is that sponsor San Miguel Beer has backed out and the PFF has to shoulder the cost of refurbishing Rizal Memorial Stadium themselves. This is a shame since SMB under Andres Soriano used to sponsor a lot of the football events back in the 80's and 90's including the Coke for Goal grassroots initiatives which SMB has also abandoned. The Cojuangcos prefer to spend their money on the PBA instead. I have not seen as many charitable initiatives either under the Cojuangcos compared to when they were under the Sorianos. SMB nowadays seem to be all about profit.
ReplyDeleteI used to buy SMB beer here all the time in the US even though they were more expensive, but I think I might just start boycotting them in protest.

ReplyDeletedon't compare prices in the philippines to those abroad. games here in the us are even more expensive than what you quoted for the better seats. Even in Germany, for the bigger clubs like Bayern Munich, I have heard complaints of tickets prices being raised so high, so that most of the fanbase come from the corporate fanbase rather than the average football fan.
You have to price the tickets according to what the market can bear.
From now on Im drinking Manila Beer.hahaha. I dont think its expensive, VIP's can afford that. This game doesnt happen weekly. Im sure stadium will be full
ReplyDelete5000 VIP seats, I dont think they get VIP treatment except good seats ?
