MANILA--Another day of PFL action concluded with a significant change in the postseason race made on one end, while a long search for results ended in a weird fashion.
Kaya-Makati knocked former league leaders JPV Marikina off the finals places with a workmanlike 2-0 win at a muddy UMak pitch in Makati earlier in the afternoon.
Second half goals from the African strike connection of Jordan Mintah and Robert Lopez-Mendy were enough for Noel Marcaida to leapfrog into third in the table with their third straight win to hike its tally at the table with 20 points, two more than their victims.
The Ghanian struck for the hosts at the hour mark, firing a low shot after beautifully controlling Adam Reed's cross.
Then 21 minutes later, Mintah turned provider to his Senegalese counterpart and Lopez-Mendy made no mistake to find the bottom corner to take all three points.
Over in Bantay, Ilocos United share the spoils with Stallion Laguna in a rain-drenched affair that was prematurely ended the match due to bad weather.
Chima Uzoka (25') and Jhan-Jhan Melliza (28') provided the goals in a 1-1 stalemate when match officials called full time after the first half.
Citing league regulations, the score after the first half will be the final result when the match is cancelled after the first half.
