CERES Negros continued its mastery over Stallion Laguna after ending up triumphant in another rom, 5-2, in the Philippines Football League on Saturday at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
It was almost a repeat of their meeting last Wednesday in the same venue where the Busmen drubbed the visitors, 5-1, thanks to a Fernando Rodriguez hat-trick.
The win put Ceres at third place with 13 points after six games.
Not even late goals from Stallion’s Ruben Doctora and Terence Limatoc in the 76th and 81st minute were enough to dampen the festive mood at the Panaad as the hosts delivered blows early on and cruised to another comfortable victory.
Stephan Schrock scored his first goal in the tournament in the 13th minute, taking advantage of a poor clearance from the Stallion backline to open the floodgates for the hosts.
Jeffrey Christiaens then scored in the 27th minute, chipping keeper Dely Sadia from the left flank to open what would be a three-goal scoring spree in the next seven minutes.
OJ Porteria also got his first goal in the tournament in the 30th minute before Iain Ramsay put in the highlight by flicking the ball past his defender and sending a rocket past Sadia to give the hosts a four-goal cushion at the interval.
Bienve Maranon, a substitute who came on in the 58th minute, put the icing on the cake by firing in a penalty in the 60th minute.
That allowed Maranon to move past Takumi Uesato in the PFL goal tally as he scored his seventh goal in the tournament, all coming in their past three games.
The losses continue to pile up for Laguna as they remained at seventh place with three points after dropping their fifth match.
