    1. Cannot play Thailand thinking of world cup.
Seriously develop the local scene before thinking further..
This Thailand team is all boys playing at senior level..
Our boys are still playing in their age group and still consider whipping boys..

    2. We can't even beat Thailand who is considered the king of South East Asia and here you are thinking of WC 2018? Where the likes of Japan , Australia and the Middle East countries are there to compete is an uphill battle. The PFF is just sitting there and let other people control the National Teams is ridiculous. They're not even putting an Academy for the Youth teams and have an annual tournament for the grassroots. All they do is let the Dep Ed dictates the course of Football in the this country.

    3. Thought Palami make the decision for PFF.
PFF members are just his puppet.
Seems like Ali Go have correct mentality to develop football for the country.
      Palami shouls step down.

    4. SHUT THE FUCK UP THAIS! AZKALS SOON WILL BE THE FIRST WORLD CUP GOER FROM SOUTH EAST ASIA !!

    3. Semi final playing top and consistent team.
      Not the challenge cup teams.
This teams plays against top team like japan etc and at time drawing and even winning them..
Azkals have difficulty playing myammar so that is our standard.

  5. Why there are so many oversea players from the National Team Roster? Where is the local talents?

    1. Cause there is no interest to develop players locally.
all just create farce like those youth camp etc.

      Delete
    2. Because Palami and Dooley rather wants to field a crappy player like Mulders. A player who hasnt been good in any of the games he has played for the azkals. And he isnt getting any younger either.

Azkals without the foreign based players are NOTHING compared to other SEA nations. We are so dependent on them. We even called up Schrock against minor teams, which is a waste. Other nations wouldve given homegrown players a chance, but Palami? Will never happen. This is really bad for the future of Philippine football. A quick fix isnt the future, and it doesnt seem like they wanna improve this.

    3. Lol soccer just started in 2010 you think those people who got hyped with socer are good enough already? Maybe some of them are not even teens yet

    4. "Lol soccer just started...."

WTF! Soccer? Just started? Damn man, what are you on! Hahahaha!

I guess you mean that no one is good enough because someone "invented" a new sport and "introduced" the sport in the Philippines in 2010. Well, tell that to Reyes. Im sure Barcelona signed him out of pity for the filipino people.

      Delete
    5. Lol you are taking everything literally. You know soccer only got popular in the philippines in 2010. Try to read between the lines or im gonna believe that your parents just wasted their money on ur education lmao

      Delete
    6. The truth is only rich boys only play soccer here, and we all know rich people have no talent in athletics. They cant even function without a yaya lol let us wait til the masses get hooked with soccer

      Delete
    7. I go with fil foreigners than those local rich mamas boy pretenders athletes ha ha

      Delete
    8. Without the mestizos we wont be anywhere near the Suzuki Cup group stages. The PFF would still be corrupt because no one cares. Be thankful with your blessings. And yes they are still far more superior than the local boys. Get over it.

      Delete
    9. So all footballers in the Philippines are rich mamas boy? LOL! What a way to put it. What you bandwagoners dont understand is, that with the inclusion of only fil-foreigners on the team, the other and actual good homegrown players wont get a chance to play and develop. And you see that in the UFL as well. Teams recruit foreigners like if they were in the PL or other big leagues, but the reality is far from there. Why pay big bucks for mediocre africans when you can have a local player who can perform at the same level.

This is a problem with filipinos. You people are so blind when a handsome half this/half that comes in and that is all you see. You can see that in showbiz, and in other sports. You value foreigners so high, that you cant value what you have in your own backyard.

Forget about Thailand and the other good SEA nations, coz Philippines is going no where near them in terms of quality and talent development. What you people want is fil-foreigners to take the azkals to the WC. Well, wake the fcuk up! Thats not going to happen if you want a simple quick fix to everything. I bet Thailand would qualify for a WC long before the azkals would get near any big competitions in the near future. And no, Peace Cup is nothing. Winning Peace Cup on homefield doesnt mean squat. So please, go on and cheer on the azkals when play Mongolia, Guam and other minor nations.

      Regards,
From a former player who used to play in the Philippines and knows how awful the system is there. A follower of Philippine football since early 90s.

      PS.
The PFF is still corrupt for those who dont believe that. The signs are everywhere. Open up your effin eyes.

      Delete
    10. No. Coz local masses dont play soccer. Its the truth. You are not a player. Maybe in ps4. Thailnd wont qualify anywhere. Ive been watching asian soccer since 2000 and they always suck.

  6. Its still a big step for football close to 5 years ago we were nothing in ASEAN Football, I have to be proud whatever happens at the very least football is now bigger back home than when I was still playing the Uni, where the most watched football game is the "UAAP" finals with most spectators being family members, close friends and college buddies. Now its even televised. We've gone a long way since those days and because we are now challenging the other bigger more established nations in ASEAN that's something I never though I will see in my lifetime. I don't mind the former non-residents playing either its still in their blood every Filipino is partly Chinese or Spanish or Japanese or of Malay decent so I think there's no argument as long as they play for the country and flag. Let's be proud of our athletes be it football, basketball, boxing, billiards etc ... believe me in not easy playing overseas knowing that sports other than our country is very well funded and supported by local conglomerates, gov't agencies and their countrymen win or lose.

I've been away from home for awhile now and here whenever the national team loses their country men loses with them, they will always fondly remark next time around our team will play better. Of course there will always be bickering among the leaders but that's human nature the good thing is that they will never lose faith in their team, I wish we as a nation can be as forgiving like them. I guess we just raised our expectations to high and too fast we might be forgetting that before a child can walk they have to roll-over to crawl and learn to be in their two feet before anything else happens.

I would like to think that after 5 years from that faithful night in 2010, we are just beginning to crawl now a little faster, there's a lot more to learn and quite a lot of bruises to take from falling but as a nation we should endure and support our national athletes and national teams. We will get there with small steps ... patience is key.

it is still the same pathetic attendance level.
Come back home and see the pathetic state back home.
Or it is also you dream to be a consider fil-foreigner as well

    2. You have a big problem.

    3. It has gone a long way from my stand point and at least the people I know, foreign friends outside looking in. UFL could have such a pathetic attendance level but at least there is a league unlike before, I will be back for 12 days at the least. For one thing football is being talked about and people are responding be it good or bad, we are talking about it and that's actually a big step than my high school days when I was the only one in our neighborhood who really knows what football or soccer is.

In any given circumstance and through my experience Filipinos have a great work ethic and can out perform anyone in any given field, and I usually make it known to my colleagues that I am a Filipino, born, educated and trained in my motherland. I have not accepted any change in citizenship though me and my family are up for it.

I have played for my country and flag in my youth and it was never this way, I played with Chieffy Caligdong's older brother "Iyong" during my Uni days and he was a lot better than Chieffy, I coached football for more than 10 years and brought Manila kids to the football heartland which is Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo to understand what football culture is all about. I understand Filipino football and everything that's happening right now is much better than it was years ago.

The thing is it is also some of us Filipinos who are unappreciative of the things that's there for us, you would have to live outside the country to understand what I mean. You have to support your team your country whatever the sport, activity or contest. Be proud of your country because that's HOME.

    4. Magzi great observations. Some of these advocates of local players are not seeing the big picture and are being counter productive with their biased views against the mestizos. According to these experts the Philippines was a powerhouse in football and the arrival of mestizos stunted their progress. Last time I checked no one was interested in football 10 years ago and the Philippines was a joke getting hammered by an average of 8 goals. Lol at these cry babies. They even make fun of the new league. They expect great things right away. Sacrifice and patience.... its a long way but enjoy the ride you bandwagon mfckers!

      Delete
    5. Hahai...

Look over to Europe, specifically the EPL. Take a look at what the experts say. Too many foreigners affects the performance of the NT. Why? Coz clubs signs mostly foreigners and the big clubs even field a starting eleven with no englishman on the list. This is whats happening to the UFL. The signing of foreigners, in a low quality league. So where do you guys want to see the UFL in 5-10 years from now? A league full of foreigners with big wages and hardly any local players at all?

Dont tell me this is good for the sport because local talents have to work harder, well yeah, they need to work hard anyway. So thats just BS explanation. Does the UFL even charge spectators for tickets, or is it all FREE? Way to go UFL, acting like a highly profiled league with the quality of a sunday league.

Btw, no one has mentioned that the Philippines was a powerhouse. The azkals can thank the fil-foreigners, yes, but look back in the qualifier for the 2010 cup, and you see that the azkals got lucky, and the rest is history. Football isnt always fair, and thats what happened.

  7. thai's are not so tall, but they managed to win the game convincingly, using fluid style (flick) practical technique, kicking.means that this sports is fit for filipinos . the passes was on the mastery mode.you can also see in their body/face expression of thais that they have what it takes to be a champion.''very calm'' not doing rash moves. the system based way of playing was so obvious in that time, it indicates that they have a rich football culture and huge support from fans, generally they have the edge in every inch in football sense against the azkals.sports transcends its effect in the culture, whatever sports is dominant in the respective country it surely contributes.

They even had to cheat by putting China, South Korea and Iran together in one group during the championship tournament that we hosted in the hopes that one of them would get cancelled out ensuring an easy path to the finals and FIBA worlds! What a bunch of cheats! How much money did Pangilinan pay FIBA to make that possible? Answer me!!!!!!

Height lng kasi ang alam mo para may confidence ka maglaro, yes maraming midget na Pinoy pero mas mabilis kami sa inyong mga puti o kung sino ka mang nagtatago sa pag ingles- ingles eh bobo naman sa pag iisip.

We faill because we refuse to believe on our locals on what they can do and always rely on temporary solutions. Just because we reached the semis doesn't mean we are successful because 3x we've been there and we can't even buy a goal and break into the finals. This is a blog site and we are free to air our opinion , suggestions and observations for the good of Philippine Football. But before I end this Amani is our homegrown and he saves many shots on goal last night while your Rob Gier, Ott, Sato and Lucena are out of sync. If we are promdi then why Manila Universities keep on recruiting us? shame on your bitterness jealousy. You really need a bitchslap!!!

  12. Football or sports for that matter is all about culture and its relation to history. Philippines is the only country in the ASIA or to narrow is down, ASEAN to have had its self colonized from top to almost the bottom of its islands. The other ASEAN countries such as Malaysia & Singapore (British), Indonesia (Dutch), Vietnam (French) and etc ... have been trading posts of these Europeans and governed by private companies licensed by their respective governments during 16th - 19th century on the other hand we were colonized by the Spanish for almost 400 years until the American came along and for less than 50 years we have adopted their culture and most likely their way of life and also their sports.

Based on this we adopted more of the American sports while our neighbors adopted more of the European sports. Basketball is to us and Football to the rest of our Asean brothers. This is a distinct advantage that they have over football and lets not forget our dominance over them in Basketball. Just as they have a long way to go with Basketball, we have a long way to go with Football.

I've been based mostly in Asean countries and by far we have the weakest national sports program among our neighbors but by far ASEAN countries are hundreds of miles apart from any western country in terms of support, facilities and education for sports. One has to experience in a different country to know how it feels like to live and breath a sport (that's basketball to us) In Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam - futsal courts are everywhere and they are always full (its part of their life) the same as our basketball court in the streets. The main difference is that in the West organized sports starts with the community(small)/ City(big) and supported by the people who lives in it. (e.g. LA Lakers, NY Yankees, Manchester United, Barcelona F.C - they are named after cities and not their corporate sponsors) while in the ASEAN children can only play organize sports in school in which our children have to balance their time with academic and extra curricular activities (sports included). Yes we have inter-barangay for 2 months out of 12 months while the west have 4 seasons and that is 4 different sports that their children can play and excel.

There are a lot of other factors involved but it will all boils down to priorities, Cultural differences and economics can't allow our countries to re-focus its assets for sports as they have to concentrate resources to more pressing ones, other segments of the society have to step in and help and thanks to them we are where we are at the moment. One has to look at other nations almost in the same boat as our why do they excel, we should ask South American liek Brazil, Argentina, Chile these countries most likely mirror our economic and social situation, why do they excel in sports despite having the same difficulties ... I do believe that we are more capable than them or is it all talk.

  13. the philippines became number one in asia when it comes to basketball whereas asian countries dont focus too much in this american/canadian game.yes before we are champion in asian level.these countries that we used to play are considered not a real contender because we are ahead of them when it comes to skills and other factors, we had been americanized early in the rest of asia, we had been exposed early in the mental picture of the sports through televison (what you see is what you get),then, and it becames the nations craved when it comes to sports during that days and its an easy tactics for every politicians(just give them a ball) erect a b.post engraved by politicians names, sure they will get the sympathy of the masses right away, and even in college hype, basketball is the sole crown in town friars organized leagues for the pockets of their own, it impedes the real situation of sports programs in the country, too much basketball, sports bias. i noticed that quality and level of every sports grows in an organic way as the time goes by.on the otherhand, thai's are ahead of us,lets asumed 50 years in football. because our football culture stops.americans, altered our sports culture and even our pinoy psyche they thought us to love the sports.but, lets be practical.our height doesnt fit for this tall mans game,as it was designed for caucasians/black american only, even the rest of the world can hardly even the quality and the level of americans when it comes to basketball game.lets us say that americans and the rest of the world have desame physique body structure/stature and what about us filipinos?,i think, lets move ahead focus in the sports that really drives sports tourism,if we can get, make a chance to bring other nations play here organize football in the P.I then we aligned ourselves in the rest of the asean, imagine if other countries play their club football here? it means profit for the filipinos, the problem with our filipino big companies they invest only in one sided, very traditional thinking they dont want to go out with their comfortzone, hey companies this is 21st century, promote sports tourism that suited for filipinos not unrealistic expectations its only americans had always the advantage when it comes to sports of basketball totally monopoly they gained filipinos wanes ,we cant embrace things that is not suited for us filipinos.wake up.

      Delete
  14. Modern football was introduced to Spain in the late 19th century by a combination of mostly British immigrant workers, visiting sailors and Spanish students coming from Britain.

The oldest football club in Spain is Recreativo de Huelva, formed on December 23, 1889

1898 pa lang wala na ang espanyol dito at 1899 ang unang club nila hahaha so walang kinalaman ang spain sa soccer dito

  15. These is one of the strategy of american government. If they control the media and especially sports then its one reason our economy is controlled also. Try visiting www.rense.com so many will know the truth about their domination to the world. Open your eyes and people and be vigilant cause WW3 is coming and the new Roman Empire will appear again.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Sorry guys I didn't mean to relate Spanish colonization to our football history, I cited that because I want to point out how fast Filipinos adapt to certain things. It took us less than 50 years to adapt to the western(North American "psyche"), than the 300+ year Spanish. Its the Filipinos way of adapting to new things, it could have a better impact to football or other sports.

Mr. Anonymous 12 Dec. 0915, they have been dominating since after World War 2, look around you they have been synonymous to everything around and what you have. They dominate through commodities & trade - Economics, why do you think every currency is peg with the dollar. (Roman Empire is all about land and conquest, the American Empire's reach is all about Money other wise know as their "interest") But don't worry Asia is on the rise and we own more than half of America's of their debts.

Let's just go back to PH Sports, well nothing will happen to our programs if we didn't start it in the schools because it all starts there. In the west kids play in community clubs whereas most of Asian kids play their organized sports in schools. It should start there.

    PEACE! MABUHAY PILIPINAS!
