Hundreds of teams from various football clubs across the country are expected to converge in the cities of Bacolod and Talisay, Negros Occidental when the 1st Ceres Cup 7-A-Side football tournament is scheduled to kick off on May 17-18.
Fourteen categories will be contested in this two-day bootfest, which include: Under-8, Under-9 and Under-10, which are all open to boys, girls or mixed teams, Under-11, Under-12 and Under-13 – all in the boy’s category; Under-14 Girls, Under-15 Boys, Under-18 Boys and Under-18 Girls, Under-20 Boys as well as Men’s Open, Ladies’ Open and 38-Above.
In line with this, formal letter of invitations, registration forms and other tournament details will be sent out today.
Interested teams may contact the Competition Committee through Tel. No. 0916-687-3460.
Registration fee is pegged at P1,000 for the 38-Above and Men’s Open groups, while P800 per team for the age-groups.
The football festival is a vision of Ceres FC manager Leo Rey Yanson, which is aimed at providing football enthusiasts the opportunity to foster and exhibit sportsmanship in a competitive, safe, and friendly environment. It seeks to encourage and promote football development in Negros Occidental.
Also working along with Yanson in this tournament is vice chairman Nicolas Golez./
