POWERHOUSE clubs Dynamic Builders and Ceres Transport blanked their respective rivals Sunday to secure another trip to the finals of the 2nd Conference of the North Football League being played at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
This is the second time that both these clubs made it to the finals this year with the Builders winning over the Transport, 4-3, in a penalty shootout during the last conference.
En route the finals, reigning Most Valuable Player Jayson Panhay scored double to lead Dynamic in a 3-nil triumph over Silver Dragon.
After half-hour of scoreless scrimmage, Panhay found the back of the net in the 36th minute to post a 1-nil led at the break.
In the second half, both sides employed tight defense until Ryan Lirio in the 55th minute for a 2-nil advantage before Panhay sealed the game in the 64th minute.
On the other hand, Joshua Fegidero and Janrick Soriano powered Ceres with two goals each on the 5-nil win over Trimai-Agro FC.
The match was tight in the first half with Fegidero scoring the lone goal in the early 27th minute.
However, Ceres surged in the second half Soriano nailing a goal in the 47th minute as Fegidero added another in the 56th minute.
With 3-nil lead and time winding down, Trimaxi’s defense finally collapsed as Soriano and Julius Navales scoring in the 83rd and 87th minutes to book the win.
Meanwhile, Trimaxi and Silver Dragons, likewise, got another face-off in the Battle for Third with the latter squad surviving a shootout, 7-6. (HGD)
