Manila, AUGUST 13 (Sugod.com) – Teknika held San Beda to a 2-2 draw in their PFF-SMART men’s national club championship quarter-finals at the Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Complex in Cagayan de Oro City on Saturday.
Goals from Misagh Bahadoran and Aaron Altiche, denied by San Beda’s Phil Younghusband and Jerimias Jiao, helped Teknika progress to the next stage of the competition.
Filipino international Bahadoran and Altiche found the net for the first time in the group stage in the 18th and 50th minute respectively while Phil Younghusband earns his second.
San Beda remains unbeaten since the start of the competition with double digit victories in Luzon qualifiers against ABC Stars (16-0) and Masbate FC (12-1) several months ago.
This impressive form put them as favourites to lift their first trophy in the PFF-SMART men’s national club championships.
However, Teknika midfielder Badrelin Elhabbib was quoted saying “still no team or club in the philippines could beat us. we still the unbeaten team and we are the GREAT GLOBAL FC, san beda congratulation to you for drawing with us, with 10 players you still couldn’t beat us, and nobody could…”
