MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) said the country’s under-23 team will play a friendly game versus India as part of its preparations for the Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in November.
“We’ve invited India for a friendly on 6 October and we’re still arranging other schedules,” said PFF President Mariano Araneta in Aseanfootball.org.
He added that the PFF is also inviting other Asian teams to play against the Philippine squad.
“We are inviting teams from other countries in Asia to play with us to hone the skills of our players,” said Araneta.
Among those invited was the Malaysian team.
Malaysia, however, declined an invitation due to a conflict in schedule

Was it not the Azkals (senior NT) that was going to play India ? Now it is U23 team against India ? India U23 ?
ReplyDeleteManila Bulletin reported yesterday that India did not respond ? Confused ?
Yes very confusing. It's safe to say that whenever the media ask the PFF about this, the PFF seems OK to give an immediate answer even though nothing has been finalized. Therefore the media keep reporting on different things and it makes it confusing for us.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, unless something has been confirmed/finalized, the PFF should just shut up. Simply put, if they can't put up, they should just shut up... until they have something finalized. Simple really!
Azkals supporters have to go through enough wishing and hoping without all this amateurish speculation from Araneta adding to it.
ReplyDeleteIn the professional soccer world national friendlies are arranged confidentially well in advance before any announcement is made.
The PFF should try to start acting professionally.
