WILL third time finally be the charm for Cebu Queen City United?
Cebu Queen City will take on Division 2 leader Pachanga in the second round of the United Football League Division 2 this Sunday, hoping to be the first team to beat the Noy Fegidero-coached squad.
Pachanga is undefeated in the first round with a 10-1 record and leads the divison with 31 points, while Cebu is third with 25 on a 9-2-0 record. Diliman is second with 29 points.
“The team is hungrier this time and we don’t want another defeat from them,” said head coach Mario Ceniza.
Ceniza said he also expects Pachanga to take Queen City seriously as they have now realize how much they’ve improved as shown by their eight-game streak where they scored almost four goals per game.
Pachanga beat Cebu, 4-0, during the UFL Cup and 1-0 in the first round of Division 2.
Since that loss to Pachanga, Cebu has racked up eight straight wins.
And with Pachanga fielding in recruits who played in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, there can be no room for complacency. Aside from Pachanga, Diliman and Agila FC are among the tough teams they consider in the tournament.
Ceniza said that even though they had eight wins against the rest of division two teams, they cannot discount the other teams as all bulked up their lineup during the transfer window.
