TEAM Cebu faltered for the second time in its home matches as it bowed to Negros Occidental Football Association, 4-1, in the under-23 Suzuki Cup regional matches at Don Bosco Boys’ Home Football Field in Liloan.
CFA suffered its second successive loss in the tournament after Iloilo swept them, 1-0, two weeks ago.
The University of San Jose Recoletos forms the core of the team, with reinforcement from Don Bosco Technical Center.
Junjun Pintuan scored the lone goal for the team, which is now at third in the standings with four points after one win, one draw and two losses.
NOFA is now on top of the standings with nine points after it won its last three games against Negros Oriental Football Association, 4-1, and Iloilo Football Association, 2-0.
IFA is in second place with six points and a record of two wins and one loss, followed by CFA, NORFA with one point and LFA still pointless with two losses.
LFA will have its third game against Nofa this Monday at Leyte Sports Complex. It hopes to salvage its first win against the powerhouse teams mostly made up of booters from Bacolod.
