Davao FA, represented by Medvil FC, started its campaign in the PFF – Suzuki U23 Mindanao Qualifying by beating Davao del Norte FA (6 – 1) in the E-Park field in Tagum City. Goal scorers for Davao FA are Michael Nehemiah Simms (22’ & 83’); Jomar Acedo (43’); Renz Rhey Napuran (52’ & 72’); and Marlon Demapanag (64’). John Mark Ador scored for DNFA (25’) when Davao FA goal keeper Dominador Tato IV tapped the ball from a corner kick direct to his feet.
A heavy downpour for the first 15 minutes prevented both teams from scoring early goals due water patches in the field.
