SINGAPORE (16 June 2015) – Following the suspension on the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) by football’s world body FIFA recently, the AFF have decided to appoint new hosts for the various tournaments this year.
The decision was made following the AFF 15th Council Meeting that was held in Singapore yesterday.
The PSSI, who were suspended by FIFA for continued government interference, were initially supposed to host the AFF Under-16, the AFF U19 and also the AFF Futsal Championship this year.
But with the suspension, the FFC (Football Federation of Cambodia) have now come forward to host the AFF U16 slated for 27 July to 9 August, 2015 in Phnom Penh.
The AFF U19 will be played out in Vientiane, Laos while the AFF Futsal Championship has now been taken over by Thailand, who will also hosts the AFF Futsal Club Championship 2015.
While there were no re –draws done for the groupings of teams playing in the AFF U16 and also the AFF Futsal Championship, a re-draw was made for the AFF U19 as initially, teams were classified into three groups.
Now, there will only be two groups for the AFF U19.
